A car overturned after crashing into a roadside wall on the road between Sant Josep and es Cubells on Sunday morning, temporarily bringing traffic to a complete standstill.
The accident happened at around kilometre 2 of the road, where the vehicle collided with a wall at the side of the carriageway before overturning and coming to rest on its roof with all four wheels facing upwards.
Road Closed in Both Directions
The crash left the vehicle blocking the road and also scattered stones across part of the carriageway.
As a result, the road had to be closed in both directions while the vehicle was removed and the surface cleared.
The closure caused a temporary disruption for drivers travelling between Sant Josep and es Cubells during the busy Sunday morning.
Crane Used to Remove the Vehicle
Grúas Ibiza attended the scene and used a crane to lift and reposition the overturned vehicle before removing it from the road.
Once the car and debris had been cleared, traffic was gradually able to resume through the area.
No Serious Injuries Reported
Despite the dramatic appearance of the crash, no serious injuries were reported.
The circumstances that caused the car to leave the road and collide with the wall have not been established in the initial reports.
The incident was one of several traffic-related disruptions reported around Ibiza during a particularly busy Sunday morning.
A Busy Morning on Ibiza's Roads
The accident came during another busy summer weekend on the island, when Ibiza's roads carry a high volume of residents, workers and visitors travelling between towns, beaches and tourist areas.
The road connecting Sant Josep with es Cubells is an important route for accessing the southern part of the municipality, meaning even a temporary closure can affect local traffic.
Fortunately, the vehicle was eventually removed and the road reopened, allowing traffic to return to normal.
