FORMATION

Petrified wood is a fossilized wood about 200-250 million years old, belonging to the Triassic period. It formed thanks to trees that were buried underground among accumulating sediments.

In these sediments, silica predominated, which, along with the action of water, filtered, filled, or replaced the cell walls of the wood. The presence of iron, copper, and manganese in the water and sediments gives petrified wood different shades and colors.

In this way, the tree or wood left a mineral mold in which it is often possible to observe the original plant tissue and even growth rings, as in photographs of cross-sections of fossilized tree trunks or branches.

PROPERTIES

Petrified wood is considered a stone of transformation. It promotes grounding and connection with Mother Earth, also facilitating energetic cleansing.

Petrified wood provides tranquility and well-being. It enhances openness and helps soften rigidity. At a healing level, it is applied to the solar plexus in treatments for osteoarthritis and arthritis.
