A new photography exhibition is inviting audiences to see Ibiza from a different perspective.

“Als meus ulls. Visió Chendri”, by photographer Mohamed Chendri, has opened at Sa Nostra Sala in Ibiza Town, showcasing his distinctive way of photographing the island, its people, traditions and landscapes. The exhibition is promoted by the Arxiu d’Imatge i So del Consell d’Eivissa.

A Different Way of Seeing Ibiza

Chendri's photography is particularly known for its optical illusions, unusual perspectives and carefully constructed scenes.

What makes his work especially distinctive is that these apparently impossible images are created without digital manipulation. Instead, Chendri physically builds the elements of each scene, carefully arranging the composition before taking the photograph.

His approach combines photography with imagination, construction and storytelling, encouraging viewers to look at familiar places in unexpected ways.

From Morocco to Ibiza

Chendri was born in 1988 in Bab Taza, Morocco, and moved to Ibiza when he was just 12 years old.

His interest in photography began during childhood, inspired by film cameras his father brought home from his journeys between Ibiza and Morocco. Years later, a second-hand digital camera bought for just €20 at the Sant Jordi flea market helped turn that early interest into a serious creative pursuit.

Today, Ibiza remains one of the central sources of inspiration for his work.

Portraits, Traditions and Everyday Ibiza

The exhibition brings together different aspects of Chendri's career, including portraits, images of Ibiza's traditional celebrations and scenes connected to the island's cultural heritage.

Visitors will see photographs connected with events such as Ibiza Medieval, Carnival and ball pagès, alongside his distinctive perspective-based compositions.

The exhibition also includes a video showing how Chendri creates his photographs, as well as some of the physical objects he uses to construct his scenes.

An Artist Embracing the Craft

The exhibition comes at an important moment in Chendri's professional career.

In 2026, he left his job in a painting workshop to dedicate himself entirely to photography, beginning a new chapter as a professional photographer and photojournalist.

His work has also attracted a substantial online audience, with nearly 474,000 followers following videos that show how he creates his unusual photographs and brings his ideas to life.

See Ibiza Through Chendri's Eyes

For visitors and residents, Als meus ulls offers an opportunity to experience familiar Ibiza locations and traditions from an entirely different point of view.

Rather than simply documenting the island, Chendri reimagines it, combining real places and traditions with carefully constructed visual ideas.

The exhibition can be visited at Sa Nostra Sala, Carrer d'Aragó 17, Ibiza Town, from August 28 through September 19, 2026.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00–13:30 and 17:30–20:30, and Saturdays from 10:30–13:30.
