Emergency services rescued a 27-year-old British man after he showed signs of drowning in the waters around s’Espalmador, Formentera, on Wednesday.
The incident was reported to emergency services at around 1:30 p.m., prompting the Socorrismo service of the Consell de Formentera to travel to the area and assist the man.
Rescue Operation at S’Espalmador
According to the Consell de Formentera, lifeguards reached s’Espalmador and began assisting the man before starting his transfer by boat.
During the journey, the man was moved onto a second rescue boat operated by the same lifeguarding service.
He was then taken towards the Canal des Ministre, in the Illetes area of Formentera, where he was brought ashore.
Taken to Hospital for Medical Attention
Once on land, the man was treated by emergency medical personnel from the 061 health service.
