One of the most beautiful signs of winter in Ibiza is the arrival of the almond blossom. From January onwards, almond trees begin to flower across the island, covering parts of the countryside in delicate white and pale pink blossoms before the rest of the landscape fully awakens for spring.

One of the most celebrated places to experience the spectacle is the valley around Santa Agnès de Corona, a small rural village surrounded by almond groves and traditional agricultural land. The area has long been associated with almond cultivation, with the trees forming an important part of the rural landscape. During the flowering period, the normally green and earthy surroundings take on an entirely different appearance.

Walking through the countryside allows the blossom to be appreciated as part of the wider landscape rather than simply as a seasonal display.
