Friday, October 2, 2026 brings another busy day to Ibiza and Formentera, with the start of the weekend combining music, markets, art, culture, outdoor activities, food experiences and local events.

The sixth edition of Sonorama Ribera Goes to Ibiza begins at the Auditori Caló de s’Oli, Santa Eulària marks the International Day of Older Persons with the Temps d’Or programme, Sant Josep hosts its monthly artisan and local-produce night market, and Formentera begins the 10th edition of SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia.

There are also exhibitions across the islands, contemporary dance at Cas Serres, a charity dinner at Cala Bassa, Cinema Paradiso's final outdoor screening at Las Mimosas and plenty of sunset and live-music options.

Sonorama Ribera Goes to Ibiza begins in Cala de Bou

The sixth edition of Sonorama Ribera Goes to Ibiza opens today at the Auditori Caló de s’Oli.

The Friday programme runs from 18:00 into the night and is free to attend.

Six Spanish acts are scheduled: Kitai, Modelo, Éxtasis, Tenda, Comandante Twin and Oslo Ovnies.

The festival continues on Saturday, October 3 at Venice Bay with a ticketed programme featuring further performances.

The event forms part of the opening programme of the Festes de Cala de Bou i es Port des Torrent, which continue through October 20.

Sant Josep Night Market returns

The monthly Mercat Nocturn de Sant Josep takes place this evening from 18:00 to 23:00.

Around twenty stalls are expected, with a focus on crafts and local commerce.

Jordi Sanou and other musicians provide the live music programme from 19:30 to 21:00.

The market is held in the pedestrian area around the Sant Josep Town Hall.

Santa Gertrudis Night Market

Santa Gertrudis also has its Friday evening market.

The Santa Gertrudis Night Market runs from 19:00 to midnight along Carrer de la Vénda des Poble, with artisan products and other market stalls.

It provides another option for an evening market away from the busier coastal areas.

Temps d’Or celebrates older residents

Santa Eulària's Temps d’Or programme continues today with a round table at the Centre Cultural de Jesús.

The event begins at 10:30 with Envejecer con sentido, moderated by journalist Maria Roig.

The programme brings together Elena Fernández Gamarra, Josep Maria Tugues and Margarita Torres to discuss ageing, wellbeing, health and quality of life.

The event is free and forms part of a three-day programme marking the International Day of Older Persons.

Formentera welcomes SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia

Formentera becomes the setting for the 10th edition of SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia from today through Sunday, October 4.

The festival is deliberately intimate, with the music programme kept secret until the event begins. The first details are revealed to attendees on the Friday.

The festival combines live music with gastronomy, nature and environmental initiatives across Formentera.

The Formentera Government's official agenda confirms the festival runs from October 2 to October 4.

One more important Formentera detail

Formentera's official agenda confirms that October 2 is also the final date of the 2026 Música en Viu cycle in Sant Ferran. The concert takes place in the church square at 22:00.

The official island agenda also confirms that SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia begins today and that the wider Música a les Places programme reaches its final October 2 date.

Friday marks another change of pace

October 2 shows Ibiza moving firmly into its autumn rhythm without becoming quiet.

There are still daytime experiences, beaches, cruises and hotel programmes, but the cultural calendar is becoming more prominent, with exhibitions, contemporary dance, theatre, poetry, local markets and community events appearing alongside the island's remaining music programme.

Sonorama brings live Spanish music to Cala de Bou, Sant Josep and Santa Gertrudis offer evening markets, Formentera begins its intimate Posidonia festival, and local cultural programmes continue across the island.

The summer season is winding down, but Friday, October 2 still offers a remarkably full day across Ibiza and Formentera.
