Donde Brotamos Returns to Santa Eulària for Free Screening and Mental Health Discussion

October 01, 2026

The short documentary “Donde Brotamos” will return to the Teatro España in Santa Eulària des Riu on Wednesday, October 7, offering a free screening followed by a public discussion about mental health, disability and inclusion.

Directed by Lucía Ortín and starring Santa Eulària resident Alberto González, the documentary will be shown at 19:00. González and Ortín will take part in a discussion with the audience following the screening.

An intimate story told in the first person

“Donde Brotamos” presents an intimate portrait centred on mental health and working in the countryside.

The documentary follows González through his daily life, his relationship with nature and his own way of understanding the world. The film places his voice at the centre of the story rather than reducing his experience to a diagnosis.

The upcoming screening will also create an opportunity for the local audience to discuss subjects including mental health, disability and inclusion.

Returning to where it began

The screening has particular significance for the documentary because the Teatro España is where “Donde Brotamos” premiered in February 2026 as part of the Focus Balear programme of Ibizacinefest.

Since its premiere, the film has travelled to several events and festivals connected with social cinema, including the Festival de Cine Rural y de Montaña de Cervera de Pisuerga and Mirades Fest.

It has also been selected for the official documentary section of Som Cinema in Lleida, where it is scheduled to screen on October 22, 2026. The documentary is also included in the official selection of the 2026 Ibiza International Film Festival, according to the event information.

A conversation after the screening

The October event will differ from the documentary's original festival screening by giving the local audience the chance to meet the protagonist and director and discuss the issues explored by the film.

The Santa Eulària Town Hall says the event forms part of activities connected with World Mental Health Day and aims to create space for conversations around realities that do not always have opportunities to be heard.

Ortín has described the documentary as an independently created project that began with limited resources. She said she is particularly moved to see González's story continuing to find places where it can be heard.
