Day 14: Cycling in the Ibiza Countryside

Cycling offers a different way to experience Ibiza, taking you beyond the main roads and into the quieter landscapes that make up much of the island’s interior. Rural tracks, traditional farmhouses, pine forests, valleys, and agricultural fields create a constantly changing setting, revealing a side of Ibiza that is often missed when travelling by car.

The island has a network of 20 signposted cycling routes promoted by the Consell d’Eivissa, covering both road cycling and mountain biking. The routes pass through areas including Sant Mateu, Santa Gertrudis, Sant Josep, Sant Rafel, Santa Eulària, and the valleys of the island’s interior, with different distances and levels of difficulty available.

Winter provides particularly comfortable conditions for cycling, with milder temperatures and quieter roads making it easier to enjoy longer stretches of countryside. Routes through areas such as Sant Mateu and Buscastell pass traditional agricultural landscapes, while other itineraries connect villages and follow paths through forests and valleys.

Cycling through the countryside reveals Ibiza at a slower pace, where the landscape becomes part of the journey rather than something viewed through a car window. It is a chance to see the island’s rural architecture, fields, woodland, and changing terrain up close, offering a more active way to experience the quieter Ibiza that exists beyond the summer season.

We organize curated Ibiza island experiences throughout your stay, tailored to your pace, interests, and travel dates.

Through 365 Days of Ibiza, we curate meaningful experiences that connect you with the island’s culture, landscapes, food, and rhythm, beyond seasons and crowds.
