LAPIS LAZULI PROPERTIES

The name Lapis Lazuli comes from the Latin lapis, meaning "stone", and the Persian lazhuward, meaning "blue".

It is made up of multiple minerals, mainly Lazurite, Sodalite, Calcite and Pyrite, which gives the stone some really beautiful golden effects or reflections that catch the eye as soon as you see them.

One of the peoples who used this mineral the most were the Egyptians; for them it was the stone of good luck. For example, they placed it on sacred scarabs or on funerary masks. What's more, it is thought that it was also used as medicine. For this, lapis lazuli was crushed and the resulting powder was ingested.
