Changes color when the baby or child exceeds 37.5º

Acting in time can make a difference. The BimbiDreams thermointelligent fitted sheet will be of great help, since, thanks to the thermochromic inks, the printed design will change color from  GREY to PINK TONE if it detects a rise in temperature above 37.5°C, immediately alerting you so you can act.

Given the high risk that excess heat entails, especially for infants, it is crucial to avoid small temperature rises that they are not yet able to manage on their own.

Fever or excess heat?

Generally, a child's body temperature is between 36.5°C and 37.5°C. Fever in children is a body temperature above this range.

Fevers are common in young children. Whether it's fever in children or fever in babies, they are usually caused by viral infections and disappear without treatment. However, sometimes, fever in children can be a sign of a more serious infection caused by bacteria that require specific and intensive treatment. However, a rise in a baby's temperature is not always linked to fever; it is often due to excess heat.

In the first months of life, the thermoregulatory system is not yet fully formed and tends to overheat very easily, which can lead to heatstroke.

Thanks to silver ions (BeSo®GUARDED), bacteria are kept away from the baby's environment because they provide antibacterial protection to the fabric, minimizing the baby's exposure.

The ideal temperature for babies and children

Ideally, for sleeping and being at home, babies should wear light clothing and the environment should be between 18 and 22 °C.

The most common risk of over-bundling a baby or young child is causing a fever. In this sense, the younger the children, the more vulnerable they are. Newborns cannot regulate their temperature, and if we dress them too warmly or keep them in very hot environments, they can develop a fever. Additionally, especially in the case of premature babies, they will consume extra energy to try to balance their temperature, which will make it difficult for them to gain weight.
