David Guetta has done it again, but this time he has rewritten the record books.
The French superstar has been crowned the World's No. 1 DJ in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs 2026 poll, becoming the first artist in the history of the ranking to take the coveted title six times.
The result was revealed on Tuesday, October 6, at [UNVRS] Ibiza during DJ Mag LIVE, bringing one of dance music's biggest annual moments back to the island for the second consecutive year.
For Guetta, the latest victory comes 15 years after he first topped the poll in 2011. He previously won the title in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025, meaning he has now collected six No. 1 finishes across a career spanning more than four decades.
He moves ahead of Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren, who have each topped the poll five times.
A record-breaking sixth victory
Guetta's sixth win is significant not only because of the number itself, but because it arrives at a point in his career when the scale of his global success remains enormous.
DJ Mag reports that the producer accumulated another five billion streams during the past year and became the first electronic artist to reach 22 No. 1 records on the US Dance Airplay chart.
His track "Gone Gone Gone", created with Teddy Swims and Tones and I, passed 350 million streams during 2026, while Guetta also released the official FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem with Andrea Bocelli, Megan Thee Stallion and EJAE.
The year has also seen him continue developing projects across multiple sides of electronic music, including his Future Rave partnership with MORTEN and the new Men Machine project with Marten Hørger.
For an artist who has spent years operating between underground club culture, electronic music and global pop, the ability to remain at the centre of all three worlds has become one of Guetta's defining characteristics.
Ibiza once again plays a central role
There was perhaps no better location for the announcement than Ibiza.
Guetta's connection with the island remains one of the strongest relationships between a global superstar DJ and the Ibiza club scene.
In 2026, he returned to [UNVRS] for the second season of Galactic Circus while also continuing F**K ME I'M FAMOUS! at Ushuaïa Ibiza.
According to DJ Mag, both residencies sold out faster than ever this year, adding another layer to an already remarkable Ibiza season.
Galactic Circus has also allowed Guetta to explore a more club-focused side of his sound, with one of the season's standout moments coming when he joined Carl Cox for their first-ever back-to-back set at [UNVRS].
Later in the season, Guetta also debuted "Caught Up", his forthcoming collaboration with Marlon Hoffstadt, during one of his Ibiza performances.
So when the Top 100 DJs result arrived, Ibiza was not simply the backdrop.
It was already part of the story.
[UNVRS] becomes the stage for another global dance music moment
The Top 100 DJs 2026 ceremony brought together some of the biggest names in electronic music at [UNVRS] on October 6.
The night featured performances from Lost Frequencies, Charlotte de Witte, Anyma, GORDO B2B Vintage Culture, ANASTAZJA and Korolova, before Guetta took the stage for a headline performance following the announcement.
The event continued [UNVRS]'s growing relationship with DJ Mag's global awards, after the venue also hosted the Top 100 DJs LIVE event in 2025.
Once again, Ibiza found itself at the centre of a moment being watched by the international dance music community.
Anyma makes the biggest move in the top 10
While Guetta remained at No. 1 and Martin Garrix held No. 2, one of the biggest stories in this year's ranking came from Anyma.
The Italian artist climbed seven places to No. 3, marking his first appearance on the Top 100 DJs podium.
His rise reflects the growing influence of melodic techno, immersive audiovisual performances and the new generation of artists reshaping the global electronic scene.
Anyma also had a huge Ibiza year, continuing his major presence at [UNVRS], where his futuristic production and ÆDEN concept have become some of the venue's most talked-about experiences.
Charlotte de Witte also made a significant move, climbing three places to No. 6 while retaining her title as the World's No. 1 Techno DJ for a seventh consecutive year.
FISHER, meanwhile, finished at No. 9 and retained the World's No. 1 House DJ title following another major Ibiza season.

The rankings reveal an interesting mix of established superstars and artists representing the changing direction of electronic music.
Alongside Guetta, Garrix and van Buuren, the upper reaches now feature a stronger presence from house, techno and melodic electronic artists, reflecting a broader shift in what global dance music audiences are responding to.
A huge year for Ibiza regulars
The Ibiza influence does not stop at the top three.
Carl Cox climbed two places to No. 23 following another major season at [UNVRS], while John Summit surged 22 places to No. 24, one of the biggest rises in the upper half of the ranking.
Indira Paganotto jumped 10 places to No. 26 and became the first recipient of the World's No. 1 Psy DJ award.
The Martinez Brothers rose 15 places to No. 28, while Solomun climbed 14 places.
Further down the ranking, Josh Baker became the highest new entry at No. 40, while Joseph Capriati returned to the Top 100 at No. 68.
The sheer number of artists with strong Ibiza connections throughout the list underlines just how closely the island remains connected to the wider global electronic music industry.
A truly global vote
The 2026 poll also reached a new scale internationally.
DJ Mag says the latest edition received a record number of verified votes from 234 territories around the world, making it one of the broadest snapshots yet of global dance music fan opinion.
Top 100 DJs has evolved considerably since its launch in 1993. What began as an editorially curated list has become a fully public vote, with fans able to nominate their favourite five DJs.
That makes Guetta's latest achievement particularly notable.
He has not simply returned to a position he has occupied before.
He has become the first artist ever to reach six victories in a poll decided by a global audience.
David Guetta's Ibiza chapter continues
There is also something fitting about the fact that Guetta's record-breaking moment was revealed in Ibiza.
The island has been an important part of his career for years, from the rise of F**K ME I'M FAMOUS! to his newer Galactic Circus concept and his continued presence at the biggest venues on the island.
Now, in 2026, Ibiza has witnessed another milestone in the career of one of electronic music's most influential figures.
Six times at No. 1.
More than 40 years into his career.
And still at the centre of the world's biggest dance music stages.
David Guetta may have already collected the most Top 100 DJs victories in history, but his latest win suggests that his place at the heart of electronic music is far from finished.
