Friday, October 9, 2026 Ibiza & Formentera Events: Santa Teresa, Cala de Bou and Sant Rafel Fiestas, Markets, Culture, Family Activities and More

09 October 2026

Friday, October 9 brings one of the most varied days of Ibiza's autumn calendar, with local fiestas, village celebrations, sport, family activities, markets, art, music, outdoor adventures and plenty of tourism experiences taking place across the island and in Formentera.

Three local celebrations are particularly important today. The Festes de Santa Teresa begin in Es Cubells, the official programme of the Festes de Cala de Bou i es Port des Torrent reaches its main opening celebration, and the Festes de Sant Rafel begin their 2026 programme.

At the same time, the XXIII Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza Campagnolo gets underway in Sant Antoni, Formentera continues its Festes del Pilar and Tardor d'Art programmes, and a full selection of family-friendly, cultural and outdoor experiences fills the daytime hours.

As night approaches, Ibiza moves into one of the biggest closing weekends of the 2026 season, with major events at Hï Ibiza, [UNVRS], Pacha Ibiza, Amnesia, Chinois, Cova Santa and more.

Here is our guide to Friday, October 9, 2026.

For more adventurous visitors, coasteering, Jeep tours, quad excursions, buggy experiences and electric motorbike activities are available around the island.

Markets and Local Produce

Friday is an excellent day for discovering Ibiza and Formentera through local produce and village markets.

The Mercat de sa Cooperativa in Sant Antoni runs from 09:00 to 14:00, with local, seasonal and kilometre-zero products.

Formentera's Farmers' Market also begins from 09:00, followed by the Sant Francesc Market from 10:00 to 14:00.

These are particularly good choices for visitors who want to experience a quieter side of the islands and discover local agricultural products and crafts.

Family Activities and Experiences

There are several worthwhile options for families on Friday.

BIBO Park in San Rafael offers a family-friendly activity from 10:00, while Little Chiringuito at El Chiringuito Ibiza in Es Cavallet is open from 08:00 to 18:00.

Later in the day, Little Beachouse at Beachouse Ibiza runs from 13:00 to 17:00, with activities designed for children.

Wine, Food and the Rural Side of Ibiza

Friday is also a good opportunity to explore Ibiza's agricultural traditions.

Can Rich in San Antonio continues its guided vineyard visit and wine tasting from 10:00.

Ibiza's food scene also features prominently, with Ibiza Food Tours in Ibiza Town and a range of dining and lifestyle experiences across the island.

White Ibiza lists Bello Sessions and day passes at Hotel Mongibello from 12:00 to 20:00, while the island's restaurants and beach venues continue their autumn programmes.

Art and Exhibitions Across Ibiza

Ibiza's autumn cultural programme remains particularly strong.

Mirades Perdudes by Joan Costa remains on display in Dalt Vila, while Dones a la Mar by Marina Penhos continues at the Sant Jaume 72 exhibition hall in Santa Eulària.

Santa Teresa Festivities Begin in Es Cubells

Friday marks the opening of the Festes de Santa Teresa in Es Cubells.

The celebrations begin with the opening of Imaginari 2.0, a sculpture exhibition by Jaume Marí, at the Salón Joan XXIII at 19:30.

The exhibition remains open through October 15, while the wider Santa Teresa festivities continue with traditional, cultural and sporting activities in the village.

For visitors interested in Ibiza's traditional villages and local celebrations, Es Cubells is one of the most interesting places to be this Friday evening.

Cala de Bou and Port des Torrent Officially Open Their Fiesta Programme

Friday is also a major date for the Festes de Cala de Bou i es Port des Torrent.

The afternoon begins with the adult book club at the Cala de Bou Library from 18:30 to 20:00.

The main fiesta programme then begins at the marquee beside the children's park at 20:00, with the official proclamation by the Asociación de Mujeres de Cala de Bou.

The event continues with a performance by the Grup Folklòric de Sant Jordi de ses Salines and a free flamenco and rumba concert from A Mi Aire.

The Ayuntamiento de Sant Josep confirms that the wider festivities run from October 2 to October 20 and combine cultural, sporting, gastronomic, musical and family activities.

The Festes de Sant Rafel Begin

Sant Rafel also officially begins its 2026 patron-saint festivities on Friday.

The opening proclamation takes place at 20:00, with historian Paquita Riera delivering the pregón and receiving the Premi Força de Fang 2026.

Formentera's official tourism agenda confirms that Tardor d'Art runs from October 5 to 17, while Festes del Pilar continues through October.

Cycling Takes Over Sant Antoni

Friday marks the opening day of the XXIII Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza Campagnolo.

The event runs from October 9 to 12 and forms part of Sant Antoni's sporting tourism programme.

Friday is focused on registration, the exhibition zone and the official presentation rather than the main cycling stage.

The Expo and race-number collection run from 17:00 to 21:00 at Passeig de ses Fonts, followed by a programme of live performances, with the official presentation at 19:00 and a traditional Ball Pagès performance forming part of the evening. The main cycling stages begin on Saturday.

Sunset on the Island

As Friday moves towards sunset, the island's coastline becomes the focus.

Formentera Mira al Cel, or Formentera Looks Skyward, begins at 21:00 at the Centre d'Interpretació Can Marroig and continues until 23:00.

The evening is dedicated to astronomical observation and the island's exceptionally dark skies, offering visitors a chance to discover another side of Formentera away from the bright summer nightlife.

The event is officially included in Formentera's autumn programme.

A Night of Major Closing Parties

A Friday Full of Ibiza

October 9 captures almost every side of Ibiza and Formentera in a single day.

There are the markets and countryside experiences of the daytime, family activities and boat trips, contemporary art and local exhibitions, traditional village celebrations and the opening of a major sporting event.

The evening brings even more contrast, with Santa Teresa beginning in Es Cubells, Cala de Bou officially opening its festivities, Sant Rafel launching its patron-saint programme and Formentera turning its attention to the night sky.

And then there is the Ibiza most people know, with some of the biggest closing parties of the year taking place across the island.

For visitors, Friday is a chance to experience much more than the final days of the club season. It is a day to discover the villages, traditions, culture, landscape and communities that make Ibiza and Formentera unique all year round.
