Dubfire in Ibiza: Career, Music and 2027 Season Outlook

02 November 2026

Dubfire remains one of the established names in international underground electronic music, with a career spanning more than three decades, from his Grammy-winning success with Deep Dish to his influential solo work in house and techno.

The DJ and producer, whose real name is Ali Shirazinia, has a longstanding connection with Ibiza's club scene. His most recent Ibiza appearances included Joseph Capriati Presents Metamorfosi at Amnesia during the 2026 season.

With his international TWENTY campaign running from autumn 2026 through summer 2027, attention is also turning to his future performances and potential return to the island. However, no specific Ibiza dates for the 2027 season have been confirmed.

Dubfire's Ibiza Appearances in 2026

Dubfire was part of the 2026 lineup of Joseph Capriati Presents Metamorfosi at Amnesia Ibiza.

The residency took place on Tuesdays from 30 June to 29 September, bringing together established international house and techno artists alongside emerging talent.

The programme featured artists including Richie Hawtin, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Ben Klock and Anfisa Letyago, alongside Dubfire.

Metamorfosi continued to establish itself as an important part of Amnesia's underground music programme, with performances across the club's Terrace and Main Room.

Will Dubfire Return to Ibiza in 2027?

Dubfire's 2027 Ibiza schedule has not yet been confirmed.

His international TWENTY campaign runs from autumn 2026 to summer 2027, combining selected club and festival performances with a retrospective album celebrating his solo career.

The project includes performances in different international markets, with some events presented in open-to-close formats. However, no specific Ibiza booking should be considered confirmed until an official announcement provides the date, venue and event details.

From Deep Dish to a Solo Techno Career

Born in Iran and raised in the United States from the age of seven, Ali Shirazinia began developing his musical interests through bands and local clubs in Washington, D.C.

In 1990, he met Sharam Tayebi, with whom he formed Deep Dish. The duo went on to become internationally recognised electronic music producers and DJs, winning a Grammy Award in 2001.

Following their success together, both artists pursued individual careers. Shirazinia adopted the name Dubfire, developing a sound focused on underground house, minimal and techno.

His early solo releases included RibCage, Emissions and Roadkill, all released in 2007. His remix of Plastikman's Spastik and the collaboration Grindhouse with Radio Slave and Danton Eeprom also became important releases in his catalogue.

Over the years, Dubfire has worked with artists including Oliver Huntemann, Miss Kittin, Carl Craig, Flug and Kölsch, while continuing to develop his own record label, SCI+TEC.

HYBRID and EVOLV: Exploring Music and Technology

Dubfire has also explored the relationship between electronic music, performance and visual technology.

His HYBRID show, developed in 2015, combined electronic music with a more immersive audiovisual concert format. The project subsequently inspired the retrospective album HYBRID – A Decade of Dubfire, released in 2017.

His later EVOLV project continued this exploration, incorporating visual and technological elements into his performances.

Alongside his touring and production work, Dubfire continues to run SCI+TEC, the record label he founded in 2007.

Dubfire's TWENTY Campaign for 2026 and 2027

The TWENTY campaign represents another milestone in Dubfire's solo career.

Running from autumn 2026 through summer 2027, the project includes selected club and festival performances, some presented in open-to-close formats, allowing him to guide the music throughout an entire event.

A retrospective album is also planned, bringing together selected releases from 2016 to 2026 alongside previously unreleased material.

The campaign celebrates the club culture and musical spaces that have influenced his development as an artist. Specific Ibiza dates have not yet been confirmed.
