Drivers in Ibiza should prepare for temporary traffic restrictions in Santa Eulària des Riu from Monday, 2 November, as the town council begins two road improvement projects affecting Calle Isidoro Macabich and the Camí des Fil in Sant Carles de Peralta.
The works involve repairing damaged paving stones in the town centre and resurfacing a section of the Camí des Fil. Both projects will require temporary road closures, with different schedules and access arrangements for residents and other road users.
Calle Isidoro Macabich: Two Phases of Roadworks
The first project will focus on repairing and replacing damaged paving stones along Calle Isidoro Macabich in Santa Eulària.
To reduce disruption, the work will be carried out in two phases.
2 to 8 November:
The first phase will take place around the junction with Calle del Mar, near Calle Sant Llorenç. This intersection will remain closed to vehicle traffic while the repairs are carried out.
9 to 15 November:
During the second phase, the work will move to another section of Calle Isidoro Macabich. This stage will require the closure of Calle Sant Joan to vehicle traffic.
The intervention aims to improve the condition of the road surface and enhance traffic safety in the town centre.
Camí des Fil: Traffic Restrictions Between 08:00 and 16:00
A separate improvement project will also begin on 2 November along the Camí des Fil, in the parish of Sant Carles de Peralta.
Following preliminary cleaning and road preparation, the next stage will involve laying a new asphalt surface along the section between the EI-200 road and s'Hort d'en Josepet.
The resurfacing work is expected to take approximately seven to nine working days.
During this period, the affected section will be closed to general traffic between 08:00 and 16:00, corresponding to the scheduled working hours.
Access will be maintained for local residents, while other drivers will need to use alternative routes.
Drivers Advised to Plan Alternative Routes
The two projects will affect different parts of the municipality, with the restrictions around Isidoro Macabich taking place in consecutive weekly phases and the Camí des Fil works operating during daytime hours.
Residents, commuters and visitors travelling through Santa Eulària and Sant Carles should allow additional time for their journeys and pay attention to temporary traffic signs and access restrictions.
The works form part of the municipality's efforts to improve road surfaces and maintain safer driving conditions across Santa Eulària des Riu.
