UNVRS, pronounced as “Universe,” was conceived as a declaration of intent. Rather than responding to Ibiza’s past, it looks directly toward what clubbing can become. UNVRS positions itself as a future-facing venue where scale, precision, and immersive design redefine how large audiences experience electronic music on the island.
The project is led by Yann Pissenem, the founder and creative force behind Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa Ibiza. Through his company, The Night League, Pissenem has played a central role in reshaping Ibiza’s modern clubbing landscape, introducing a new level of production, architectural intent, and international relevance. UNVRS represents the most ambitious expression of that vision to date.
Built on the site of the former Privilege, once considered the largest nightclub in the world, UNVRS does not attempt to preserve the past. Instead, the space has been entirely reimagined to meet contemporary demands, both technically and culturally. The venue has been reconstructed as a purpose-built environment where sound, lighting, and movement are engineered as a single system.
UNVRS is defined by its monumental scale and fluid spatial design. High ceilings, expansive rooms, and adaptable layouts allow the venue to transform according to the energy of each night. Despite its size, the architecture prioritizes flow and cohesion, ensuring the crowd remains connected rather than dispersed.
Technology is fundamental to the UNVRS experience. Advanced sound systems deliver clarity and power across vast spaces, while integrated lighting and visual structures are embedded into the architecture itself.
Production is not an accessory here, but part of the building’s language, designed to elevate the music without distracting from it.
The dancefloor remains the focal point. DJs are positioned as central drivers of the experience, guiding the room through extended musical narratives rather than isolated peak moments. This approach reflects a philosophy already present in Pissenem’s earlier venues, where scale and spectacle exist in service of the music, not in competition with it.
UNVRS also reflects Ibiza’s global role. Its audience is international, its programming outward-looking, and its ambition aligned with the island’s position as a cultural crossroads.
