DC-10 IBIZA
DC-10 Ibiza is not simply a nightclub, but a cultural reference point for Ibiza’s underground. Stripped of spectacle and excess, it represents a purist approach to clubbing where music, energy, and community are the only currencies that matter.
The venue first opened in 1986 inside a former aircraft hangar close to Ibiza Airport, founded by brothers Sito and Antonio Lara. Operating quietly and independently, it developed a reputation as a place for those who valued freedom and sound over visibility. Its name pays tribute to the now-retired DC-10 aircraft, a subtle nod to both its location and its unconventional origins.
Everything changed in 2002 with the launch of Circoloco, a Monday daytime party that challenged the island’s established clubbing norms. With no emphasis on headliners, no VIP culture, and a focus on extended, expressive DJ sets, Circoloco became the heartbeat of Ibiza’s alternative electronic scene and helped define a new global standard for underground events.

DC-10’s physical layout is deliberately functional and intimate.
The Terrace acts as the main focal point, enclosed to intensify sound and movement while preserving its raw atmosphere.
The Club Room offers a darker, more immersive environment that lends itself to deeper and more hypnotic selections.
The Garden provides an open-air counterbalance, allowing moments of pause without disconnecting from the flow of the night.
The club has consistently rejected mainstream clubbing conventions. There are no elevated VIP platforms or theatrical production elements. DJs and dancers share the same floor, reinforcing a sense of equality and shared purpose that has become central to DC-10’s identity.
In 2018, the introduction of a Powersoft sound system elevated audio clarity and impact while maintaining the venue’s signature intensity. Visually, DC-10 remains intentionally restrained, with red lighting closely tied to Circoloco’s aesthetic and minimal distractions that keep attention fixed on the music.
Its proximity to the airport adds a distinctive dimension to the experience. Aircraft passing overhead at low altitude punctuate the dancefloor, creating moments that feel uniquely Ibiza and inseparable from the club’s character.
While Circoloco now operates globally with events in major cities around the world, its essence remains rooted within DC-10’s walls. The venue has endured regulatory challenges, temporary closures, and shifting trends without diluting its philosophy.
DC-10 stands as one of the island’s last true underground institutions.
It offers not a performance, but a shared immersion into the raw core of Ibiza’s electronic music culture.
