Solomun returns to the Port of Ibiza tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23, for the 11th edition of Solomun at the Port, a free open-air event that has become one of the island's best-known end-of-season music traditions. The session will run from 19:00 to 23:00, with the German-Bosnian DJ and producer performing a full four-hour set against the historic setting of Ibiza Town and Dalt Vila.  

There is no admission charge, making the event a very different proposition from Solomun's regular club appearances at Pacha Ibiza. Instead of a nightclub setting, the music will unfold outdoors in the port, bringing electronic music directly into the heart of Ibiza Town. 

11 editions since 2014

Solomun at the Port began in 2014 as a way for Solomun to give something back to the island and support businesses in the port area. The event has since developed into a recurring September gathering that brings together residents, visitors, families and clubbers. 

The event did not take place in 2020 or 2021 because of the pandemic, which is why Wednesday's celebration will be the 11th edition, rather than the 13th year since its launch. It returned in 2022 after the two-year interruption. 

Previous editions have grown substantially from the original gathering, with recent reporting describing attendance as having increased from around 5,000 people to roughly double that figure. No official attendance forecast has been announced for the 2026 edition.  

Four hours beneath Dalt Vila

Tomorrow's set will run for the full four hours, from 19:00 until 23:00.

The extended format gives Solomun significantly more time than a typical festival set, allowing the music to develop as the evening moves from daylight towards sunset and into the night.

The setting is a major part of the experience. Rather than performing inside a club, Solomun will play in Ibiza's historic port, with Dalt Vila providing the backdrop as the city moves into the evening. 

The event has therefore become known for offering a different side of Ibiza's electronic music culture: an internationally recognised artist performing in an open public space rather than behind a nightclub entrance.

A free event for the island

Solomun at the Port has retained its free-admission format since its beginnings.

The event has been developed in collaboration with the Ibiza Town authorities, representatives of the Port of Ibiza community and the port itself, with support from Pacha Ibiza and local businesses and associations. Its original purpose of giving back to the community and supporting the port area's commercial activity has remained central to its identity. 

That also means the audience is different from the typical Ibiza club crowd. Previous editions have brought together long-term residents, families, local workers, younger clubbers and international visitors in the same open-air space.  

Solomun beyond Pacha

Solomun is perhaps best known in Ibiza for his long-running Solomun+1 residency at Pacha Ibiza, a concept built around Solomun sharing the booth with a different guest artist.

The Port event offers a completely different format. There is no +1, no ticketed club entrance and no enclosed dancefloor. Instead, it is a single four-hour performance in the centre of Ibiza Town.

The two events nevertheless form part of Solomun's long relationship with the island and its music scene. Pacha's current 2026 schedule has Solomun+1 continuing through October 4.

Anyone planning to attend should allow extra time to reach the port and follow any local access, safety and crowd-management instructions. The event takes place in an active part of Ibiza Town, where residents, restaurants, businesses and port operations continue alongside the concert.

For 11 editions, Solomun at the Port has offered something increasingly rare in Ibiza: a major electronic music artist, a four-hour set and a historic city backdrop, all available to the public for free.

Tomorrow, the Port of Ibiza becomes the dancefloor once again.
