Free Guided Sunset and Moonrise Walk at Cala Comte in Ibiza on October 23

Published on October 15, 2026 at 09:13 AM

The two-hour coastal walk will explore the natural surroundings of Cala Comte, offering participants the chance to discover Ibiza’s protected western coastline while watching the sunset and the moonrise.

Ibiza’s west coast will host a free guided coastal walk on Friday, 23 October, inviting residents and visitors to experience Cala Comte beyond its famous beaches and sunset viewpoints.

Organised by the Natural Reserves of es Vedrà, es Vedranell and the Ponent Islets, the activity, known in Catalan as Passeig de posta i lluna, will take place from 17:30 to 19:30. The experience combines a walk along the coast with an opportunity to appreciate the landscape as daylight fades and the moon rises above the Mediterranean.

The activity is led by the environmental education team responsible for Ibiza and Formentera’s protected natural areas. Its aim is to introduce participants to the natural values of this coastline while encouraging a greater understanding of the island’s protected environments.

Discover the Natural Side of Cala Comte

Located on Ibiza’s western coast in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Cala Comte is known for its clear waters, coastal scenery and views towards the small offshore islets.

The guided walk will follow the coastline around the Comte beaches, providing an opportunity to appreciate the landscape from a different perspective. As the evening progresses, participants can enjoy the changing light across the sea and the surrounding islets.

Beyond the views, the activity aims to highlight the environmental importance of the protected natural surroundings. The area forms part of a coastline where landscape, marine environments and wildlife contribute to Ibiza’s natural heritage.

The autumn timing also offers an opportunity to explore the island on foot outside the busiest summer period, with the focus on nature and environmental awareness rather than the usual beach activities.

A Free Activity Open to the Public

The walk is open to the public and is suitable for people interested in nature, coastal landscapes and guided outdoor activities.

Participation is free, but registration in advance is mandatory. The exact meeting point will be communicated to participants once their registration has been completed, so attendees should not assume that the group will meet at a particular entrance to Cala Comte.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
