Joan Manuel Serrat Tribute Show ‘Hoy Puede Ser Un Gran Día’ Comes to Can Ventosa in Ibiza on October 16

The music of Joan Manuel Serrat will take centre stage at Can Ventosa in Ibiza Town on Friday, 16 October 2026, with Hoy Puede Ser Un Gran Día, an intimate tribute celebrating the songs and memories associated with one of Spain’s most influential singer-songwriters.
The performance features singer Sergi Nebot and pianist Gerard Àvila, with a special guest appearance by Noemí Funes, vocalist of Ibiza-based group Groove Garage. The concert begins at 20:30 and is scheduled to run until approximately 21:30. Tickets cost €10.
A Tribute Built on Memories, Not Imitation
Rather than attempting to imitate Serrat, Hoy Puede Ser Un Gran Día approaches his music through personal experience, emotion and the memories his songs have created across generations.
Sergi Nebot leads the performance with his voice. A communications professional with more than 40 years of experience in radio, television and advertising, Nebot brings a longstanding personal connection to Serrat’s repertoire. He will also accompany some songs on guitar.
Gerard Àvila joins him on piano, creating an intimate musical setting for a selection of songs that have become part of the soundtrack to many people's lives.
The concert aims to reconnect audiences with Serrat’s words and melodies, revisiting familiar songs not simply as musical performances but as pieces of shared cultural and personal history.
Special Guest Noemí Funes
The Ibiza performance will also feature Noemí Funes, singer of the local group Groove Garage, as a special guest.
Her participation adds a local dimension to the tribute, which has been brought to the island for the first time. Organisers have also hinted at additional surprises prepared specifically for the Ibiza performance.
The show offers an opportunity for audiences familiar with Serrat’s music to revisit some of his best-known songs in a more intimate setting, while introducing his repertoire to younger listeners through a live performance centred on storytelling, melody and emotion.
An Evening of Live Music at Can Ventosa
Located on Avinguda d’Ignasi Wallis in Ibiza Town, Can Ventosa is one of the municipality’s principal cultural venues, hosting concerts, theatre and other performances throughout the year.
Hoy Puede Ser Un Gran Día provides a musical option for Friday evening, bringing a tribute to a major figure in Spanish-language music to the island’s autumn cultural programme.
With a running time of approximately one hour, the concert is designed as a focused, intimate performance rather than a large-scale production.
