Sant Antoni Police Issue 90 Drug-Possession Reports During Ibiza Nightclub Closing Weekend

October 15, 2026

Sant Antoni Local Police issued 90 reports for alleged unlawful drug possession in public places during a special operation carried out over Ibiza’s nightclub closing weekend. The deployment involved additional officers and support from the Formentera Local Police canine unit.

Of the 90 reports, 86 concerned foreign nationals. Pink cocaine, commonly known as tusi, was the substance most frequently detected during the checks.

No arrests were made during the operation, as police said the quantities seized and the available indications did not suggest that the substances were intended for drug trafficking.

Special Police Deployment During Club Closings

The operation took place during one of the busiest weekends of Ibiza’s end-of-season clubbing calendar, when major venues held their closing events and nightlife activity increased.

Six additional Local Police officers took part, alongside the canine unit from Formentera, which consisted of a handler and the dog Summer.

Officers carried out checks in public spaces as part of efforts to prevent unlawful conduct and maintain public safety during the period of increased activity.

86 Reports Involved Foreign Nationals

According to information released by the authorities, 86 of the 90 reports concerned foreign nationals. The published figures do not provide a detailed breakdown of nationalities.

The substance most frequently detected was pink cocaine, known as tusi. The term is commonly used for mixtures that can contain different ingredients, so the name alone does not establish the exact chemical composition of every substance seized.

The reports were issued for alleged unlawful possession of drugs in public places under Spain’s Organic Law 4/2015 on the protection of public security.

No Arrests for Drug Trafficking

Police said they did not find quantities of drugs or other indications sufficient to consider that the seized substances were intended for trafficking. No arrests were made during the operation.

The distinction is important: the 90 reports concerned alleged possession offences. They should not be described as 90 drug-trafficking arrests or convictions.

Prevention and Public Safety

Sant Antoni Local Police said deployments of this kind form part of their preventive and enforcement work during periods of high activity associated with nightlife.

The aim is to reinforce controls, deter unlawful conduct and help maintain public safety during the island’s busiest clubbing events.

The operation forms part of the wider policing effort accompanying Ibiza’s end-of-season closing parties, which attract large numbers of residents and visitors to the island.
