Things to Do in Ibiza This Weekend, October 10–11, 2026: Cala de Bou Express, Sant Rafel Festivities and Festa des Pou de Forada

Published on October 10, 2026 at 05:37 AM

Ibiza has a particularly interesting weekend ahead on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, with traditional village celebrations, live music, family activities, rural markets, art exhibitions, sport and cultural events taking place across the island and in Formentera.

The main attractions include the return of Cala de Bou Express, a travelling music festival featuring 24 performances across 13 venues, the continuing festivities in Sant Rafel, the traditional Festa des Pou de Forada and the Rural and Artisan Fair in Sant Rafel.

There is also plenty to discover beyond the village fiestas. From open-water swimming and a tennis tournament to contemporary art in Cala Llonga, a folklore showcase in Ibiza Town and the Festes del Pilar in Formentera, this weekend offers an opportunity to experience the islands beyond the usual nightlife circuit.

Here are some of the most interesting things happening across Ibiza and Formentera this weekend.

Saturday, October 10: Cala de Bou Express Brings Live Music to the Streets

One of Saturday's biggest community events is Cala de Bou Express, which returns for its seventh edition as part of the Festes de Cala de Bou i es Port des Torrent.

Running from 13:00 to 20:00, the event brings 24 live performances to 13 bars and establishments across the Cala de Bou and Port des Torrent area.

Known as the tren del rock, or rock train, the event takes visitors between participating venues, creating a moving celebration of local music, food and community. The programme includes performances by musicians and bands from Ibiza, with drinks and pintxos available at participating establishments at popular prices.

The schedule begins at 13:00 with performances including Café Caleta at Royal Park Vintage, Jahbless at Sofía Gastrobar and Jordi Martínez at Tribu Ibiza. Later acts include Abby Pianoman, Querencia Flamenco, Dea Tanit, Anna & Ainvar, Dr. Trapero and Groove Garage.

The event is part of the wider celebrations organised in Cala de Bou and Port des Torrent, which combine music, sport, culture and activities for families throughout October.

Family Activities and Queen Forever Tribute in Cala de Bou

Cala de Bou has plenty to offer families on Saturday, with activities taking place throughout the day around the children's park.

Inflatable attractions are scheduled from 11:00 to 14:00 and again from 16:00 to 19:00. At 17:00, Mago Albert presents a family magic show, followed by a children's party at 18:30 featuring music, games and entertainment.

The evening programme moves to the outdoor area of the Auditori Caló de s'Oli, where DJ Javi Box performs at 19:30 before Queen Forever Tribute takes the stage at 21:00.

It is one of the most varied programmes of the weekend, combining local businesses, live music, children's entertainment and an evening concert.

Sant Rafel: Nordic Walking and Traditional Ibizan Dancing

The Festes de Sant Rafel continue on Saturday with a mixture of outdoor activities and traditional rural culture.

At 10:00, a Nordic-walking excursion sets off from the festival marquee for a route through the Torrent des Fornàs area. The activity offers participants a chance to explore the countryside while enjoying an organised outdoor outing. Advance registration is required.

Later, at 18:30, attention turns to Pou d'en Micolau for a traditional festa pagesa and ballada de pou. The celebration brings together traditional music and dancing, highlighting the rural traditions that remain an important part of Ibiza's cultural identity.

The Sant Rafel festivities continue throughout October and into November, with further sporting, cultural, family and community events planned in the village.

Open-Water Swimming on Ibiza's Northern Coast

Saturday also brings the MARNATON eDreams Ibiza open-water swimming event to the island's northern coastline.

The programme includes three distances, with participants swimming from different coastal starting points towards Port de Sant Miquel.

The current organiser timetable lists the following starts:

  • 8 km: 10:00 from Cala Xarraca.

  • 4 km: 11:30 from Es Caló d'en Calders.

  • 2 km: 12:30 from Cala Benirràs.

The final swimmers are expected at Port de Sant Miquel by 14:00, according to the event schedule.

The event offers a sporting highlight in a spectacular coastal setting, with participants covering different distances along Ibiza's northern shoreline. It is an organised race, so anyone interested in taking part should consult the event's registration and participant information.

Discover the History of Dalt Vila on a Guided Visit

Ibiza Town Hall's heritage programme offers another cultural option on Saturday morning.

The guided visit Els orígens de Dalt Vila explores archaeological remains that reveal the origins and development of the city, including Phoenician-Punic remains found at MACE and other traces preserved within the present-day urban layout.

The visit is scheduled for 10:30 on Saturday, October 10, and is expected to last approximately two hours. The Saturday session is listed in Spanish, and advance registration through the municipal heritage department is required. The meeting point is communicated to registered participants.

For residents and visitors who want to understand more about Ibiza's ancient history, this is an opportunity to explore the city beyond its streets, shops and viewpoints.

Mini Open Tennis Brings Sport and Culture Together

The Mini Open Tennis returns to Ibiza Club de Campo in Sant Jordi on Saturday from 10:00.

The event brings together 32 teams and combines tennis competition with music, art and contemporary culture. Tennis legend Björn Borg is scheduled to attend for a presentation and signing of his autobiography, while the programme also includes DJs and personalities from sport and the creative industries.

The tournament offers an unusual mix of amateur sport and cultural programming, making it another notable event during an autumn weekend that extends well beyond traditional festivals.

Visitors should check the organiser's information for current access and guest-list requirements.

Markets Around Ibiza and Formentera

Markets provide another way to experience local life this weekend.

In Ibiza, the Mercadillo de Sant Jordi takes place on Saturday morning from 08:00, with stalls offering second-hand goods and other finds.

In Formentera, the Sant Francesc Market is open from 10:00 to 14:00, while the second-hand market at Jardí de Ses Eres runs from 11:00 to 14:00.

These markets offer opportunities to browse local products, crafts and pre-owned items while exploring the island's villages.

Saturday Evening: A Run into Sunset in Formentera

For those looking for a sporting challenge, the 15K Formentera Sunset Run takes place on Saturday, October 10, starting at 18:00.

The event offers two distances, a 15-kilometre race and a shorter 5-kilometre Sunset Run. The routes are designed around Formentera's coastal landscape and the light of sunset.

The event is organised by Talentum Group and the Consell de Formentera. Participation requires registration, and the official rules set out the conditions for runners.

The programme also includes a finish-line celebration, extending the event beyond the race itself.

Sunday, October 11: The Sant Rafel Rural and Artisan Fair

Sunday is one of the main highlights of the Sant Rafel festivities, with the fifth Rural and Artisan Fair taking place from 10:00 to 17:00 around the festival marquee.

The fair brings together local crafts, agricultural machinery, live cooking and products from the island's rural economy. It offers a look at the agricultural traditions and local producers that remain important to Ibiza beyond the summer tourism season.

The programme also includes the seventh Rapid Painting Competition at Can Portmany from 10:00 to 13:00.

At 11:00, the Vermut a 45 rpm gathering brings music played from vinyl records to the area around the marquee. A large communal paella is scheduled for 14:00, followed by an afternoon of music from 17:30.

For anyone interested in local produce, traditional crafts and rural life, the fair is one of the strongest reasons to visit Sant Rafel this Sunday.

Festa des Pou de Forada: A Celebration of Ibiza's Rural Heritage

Another important traditional celebration takes place on Sunday at Pou de Forada, where the folklore group Brisa de Portmany organises the Festa des Pou de Forada.

Starting at 13:00, the gathering focuses on Ibiza's traditional culture, music, games and gastronomy.

The programme includes ball pagès, traditional games, singing, tir amb bassetja and the concurs d'ucs, alongside the playful Sa Verro Race.

Food is also part of the celebration. Visitors can sample sweet and savoury coques, buñuelos and café caleta, while a communal meal is offered for €15. The menu includes frita de porc, bread, a drink and buñuelos.

Meal tickets are available from the Vima and Colorins shops, or can be reserved via WhatsApp or Bizum on +34 652 304 213.

The Festa des Pou de Forada is an opportunity to experience traditional Ibizan culture in a community setting, with a strong emphasis on local customs, food and shared celebration.

Important for Sunday Planning

The Festa des Pou de Forada begins at 13:00, while the Sant Rafel Rural and Artisan Fair runs until 17:00. As the events take place in different locations and overlap during the afternoon, visitors who want to attend both should plan their day accordingly.

Cala de Bou Continues Its Weekend Festivities

The Festes de Cala de Bou i es Port des Torrent continue on Sunday with a programme focused on crafts, children and community entertainment.

The artisan market takes place from 11:00 to 14:00 at the children's park in Cala de Bou. Inflatable attractions are also scheduled from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.

At 18:00, a family dance workshop offers an opportunity for children and adults to take part together. Dance exhibitions follow at 19:00 and 20:00, before the Ibizan group Querencia performs at 21:00.

The wider festivities continue until October 20, with further cultural, sporting, musical and family activities planned throughout the month.

Santa Teresa Festivities Continue in Es Cubells

The Festes de Santa Teresa in Es Cubells also continue this weekend.

On Sunday, an orienteering event is scheduled to begin at 18:30 beside the village church. Two courses are available: a family route with ten control points and a popular route with eleven. Participants can take part individually, in pairs or as families, but advance registration is required.

At 19:00, the church hosts a sung Mass featuring the Coral La Encina choir from Cantabria.

The village's Imaginari 2.0 sculpture exhibition by Jaume Marí is also scheduled to remain open through October 15, providing a cultural attraction during the festivities.

Formentera: Festes del Pilar and Artisan Market

Formentera has a full programme on Sunday as the Festes del Pilar continue in El Pilar de la Mola.

The day begins with a Compak Sporting clay-shooting competition at 09:00 at Can Lluc. At 10:00, the programme includes a buñuelos-making workshop led by older local residents.

The afternoon brings a family-friendly selection of activities: the La Mola Artisan Market begins at 16:00, inflatable attractions are scheduled for 17:00 and a children's workshop with face painting takes place at 18:30.

The evening continues with a barbecue at 19:30, the youth orchestra Ritmo de Isla at 20:00, the festival proclamation and awards at 21:00, a concert by La Canija at 21:00 and a performance by La 22 at 23:00.

The festivities offer a mix of traditional food, local music, family entertainment and village culture, making La Mola another worthwhile destination this weekend.

Lotus Art in Motion Opens to the Public on Sunday

Contemporary art is another highlight this weekend in Cala Llonga.

Lotus Art in Motion returns for its third edition across Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza on October 10 and 11. The event brings together 20 artists from 15 countries, with works spanning painting, sculpture, photography and digital art.

Saturday's gala night, from 18:00 to 23:00, is invitation-only. However, the public exhibition opens on Sunday, October 11, at the Mondrian Ibiza lobby from 12:00 to 20:00, with free admission.

The event adds an international contemporary-art dimension to Ibiza's autumn calendar, while creating another opportunity for visitors to explore cultural programming away from the island's nightlife venues.

World Friends of Museums Day at MACE

Ibiza Town also marks World Friends of Museums Day on Sunday, October 11, with a morning programme at the Museu d'Art Contemporani d'Eivissa (MACE) in Dalt Vila.

The schedule begins at 10:30 with a reception and breakfast, followed by a guided visit from 11:30 to 12:30 to Cel d'Or, the contemporary art exhibition by Stefan Brüggemann.

The event highlights the relationship between the museum, its collections and the people who support cultural activity on the island. Visitors should check the museum's current arrangements in advance, as places for guided activities may be limited.

Traditional Folklore Takes Centre Stage in Ibiza Town

Sunday afternoon also brings the XXIV Mostra Folklòrica Ciutat d'Eivissa, organised by Colla Sa Bodega with the collaboration of Ibiza Town Hall.

The programme begins with a parade at 17:30 from Plaça de Julià Verdera in Figueretes, continuing towards Can Ventosa, where performances start at 18:00.

This edition features Parranda Chaboco from La Orotava in Tenerife, Agrupación Folklórica El Cristo from Palencia and the local Colla Sa Bodega.

The showcase brings together traditional music, dance, costumes and popular culture from different parts of Spain, offering a celebration of Ibiza's own heritage alongside folklore from the Canary Islands and Castilla y León.

Admission to the showcase is free.

Cala de Bou Express fills local bars with live music, while Sant Rafel combines countryside activities, traditional dancing, crafts and local food. The Festa des Pou de Forada celebrates rural heritage, and Formentera brings together the Festes del Pilar, artisan markets and family entertainment.

The programme also reaches into sport, from MARNATON's open-water swims to the Formentera Sunset Run and Mini Open Tennis, while art and culture take centre stage at MACE, Lotus Art in Motion and the Mostra Folklòrica Ciutat d'Eivissa.
