Manumission is back and bringing the summer of 1998 back to Ibiza 2026 this September 25 to 27
Le Weekend MANUMISSION returns to Ibiza from 25 to 27 September 2026, marking one of the most anticipated comebacks in the island's clubbing history. After an 18-year absence, the legendary party brand will transform 528 Ibiza into a living recreation of the unforgettable summer of 1998, while extending the experience across Pikes Ibiza and Ibiza Rocks Bar (formerly Bar M) for an extraordinary three-day celebration.
For many clubbers, Manumission wasn't simply a party. It was a cultural movement that redefined Ibiza nightlife during the 1990s, blending electronic music with theatre, art, outrageous performances, fashion and complete creative freedom. Originally launched in Manchester before becoming the defining weekly event at the former Privilege Ibiza, Manumission helped shape Ibiza's global reputation as the world's ultimate clubbing destination.
This year's return is inspired by the upcoming book The Motel: High Times in 90s Ibiza, written by Claire Manumission. Rather than simply celebrating the past, the event invites guests to step inside its pages, turning the stories, characters and mythology of Ibiza's golden era into a fully immersive experience.
The centrepiece takes place on Saturday, 26 September, when 528 Ibiza will be completely transformed into a theatrical playground running from 5:00 PM until 5:00 AM. Guests will move through multiple themed worlds filled with live performances, interactive installations, dancers, drag artists, theatrical productions and surprise moments around every corner.
Every area of 528 Ibiza has been designed as a different chapter of the Manumission universe.
The iconic Manumission Motel Stage becomes the heart of the event, featuring music, spectacular performances and a mystery headline artist whose identity remains secret.
Hidden within the forest, the Bedroom Bondage à la Japonaise Stage promises an intimate environment hosted by another mystery superstar alongside a cast of theatrical performers.
The Forbidden Garden evolves into Hellfire in the Hong Kong Hot Tub, paying tribute to Ibiza legend Alfredo through Detroit techno, Balearic sounds, drag performances and the playful chaos that made Manumission famous.
Guests can also discover the return of the legendary Insane Asylum, explore the mysterious Twilight Zone, experience the theatrical world of Le Théâtre Pink Pussy, venture into Roger More's Dark Room, and find the notorious Room 10, complete with its famous waterbed, sunken bath and a soundtrack provided by some of the world's most unpredictable DJs.
Staying true to its roots, Manumission is reviving its famous no-camera policy, encouraging guests to live completely in the moment.
In another nod to the original parties, organisers will not reveal the complete DJ line-up in advance. Instead, mystery guests and surprise performances will remain hidden until the weekend unfolds, recreating the excitement and unpredictability that defined the original events.
While Saturday's spectacular takeover of 528 Ibiza serves as the centrepiece, Le Weekend MANUMISSION extends from Friday 25 September through Sunday 27 September, with events also taking place at Pikes Ibiza and Ibiza Rocks Bar, formerly the legendary Bar M, which served as one of Manumission's most iconic meeting places during the 1990s.
Demand has already proven extraordinary. The first ticket release sold out in under two minutes, highlighting the excitement surrounding one of Ibiza's most iconic brands.
Adding another nostalgic touch, tickets have been priced at €98 (including booking fee), matching the equivalent admission price paid by clubbers during Manumission's legendary 1990s run.
Very few parties have left a legacy quite like Manumission. Its return is more than another closing season event. It represents the revival of one of the island's most influential clubbing institutions, bringing together music, performance, creativity and the rebellious spirit that helped define Ibiza's golden era.
Whether you experienced Manumission first-hand or only know it through Ibiza folklore, Le Weekend MANUMISSION promises to be one of the most unique events of the 2026 season.
Prepare to leave reality behind and step back into the unforgettable summer of 1998.
