Argentine cuarteto group La K’onga brought its Córdoba-rooted sound to Ibiza for the first time on Thursday, September 24, performing at the Garden of Las Dalias as part of the venue’s Live Music programme.

The concert also marked the beginning of the band's Cuartetour Europa 2026, taking the group to several destinations across Spain and Europe.

From Córdoba to International Stages

La K’onga was formed in Villa Dolores, Córdoba, in 2003 and has spent more than two decades developing its distinctive approach to Argentine cuarteto.

The current lineup is led by singers Pablo Tamagnini, Nelson Aguirre and Diego Granadé. The band has expanded from its Argentine audience to performances in other parts of Latin America and Europe.

Its recent career has included performances at major Buenos Aires venues including Teatro Gran Rex, Movistar Arena and the Vélez Sarsfield stadium.

What Cuarteto Means to the Band

In an interview ahead of the Ibiza performance, the group described cuarteto as much more than a musical style.

The musicians said the genre carries the identity of Córdoba with it, particularly its rhythm, its connection with dancing and its role in bringing people together.

For La K’onga, performing in Ibiza represents another step in taking that Córdoba identity to audiences outside Argentina.

The band also spoke about seeing Argentine flags at European concerts and discovering that audiences from different countries know their songs, describing the international reach as something that developed gradually rather than at one specific moment.

A Sound Built Around Rhythm and Emotion

La K’onga's music combines the highly rhythmic character of cuarteto with songs that carry a stronger emotional element.

The band said that contrast is an important part of its identity, allowing audiences to move between dancing and singing along to more emotional songs during the same performance.

The group has also collaborated with artists from different musical backgrounds, including David Bisbal, Nicki Nicole, Luck Ra, Carlos Baute and Nahuel Pennisi.

First Time in Ibiza

The Ibiza performance was particularly significant for the band because it was its first visit to the island.

The group told Noudiari that playing in Ibiza was something it had not imagined several years ago and described bringing cuarteto to the island as a source of pride for the musicians and their wider team.

The setting at Las Dalias also offered a different environment from the large stadiums and arenas where the band has performed in Argentina.

The Garden provided an outdoor setting closer to the audience, while the evening could continue at Akasha after the concert. The scheduled after-party featured Buena Onda.

The Start of Cuartetour Europa 2026

The Ibiza show opened La K’onga's European tour for 2026.

Following Ibiza, the band is scheduled to continue through destinations including Mallorca, Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid, alongside other European cities.

For a group whose music is closely associated with Córdoba, the European tour provides another opportunity to introduce cuarteto to audiences who may be encountering the genre for the first time.

In Ibiza, that first encounter took place at Las Dalias, bringing one of Argentina's established cuarteto groups to an island audience for the first time.
