Man arrested in Ibiza for allegedly selling fake DC-10 wristbands for €350
A 52-year-old man has been arrested in Sant Josep, Ibiza, after allegedly selling counterfeit entry wristbands for DC-10 nightclub for €350 each.
The arrest followed an incident on the night of August 18, when Guardia Civil officers were called to a dispute involving several people in Sant Josep.
According to the Guardia Civil, officers established that the argument was allegedly connected to the sale of fake wristbands for entry to the well-known Ibiza nightclub.
One of the people involved had reportedly contacted the suspect beforehand to purchase several wristbands. The wristbands were being offered for €350 each, but the buyer became suspicious about their authenticity and contacted a member of DC-10's maintenance staff.
The staff member reportedly confirmed that the wristbands being offered did not match the nightclub's genuine entry wristbands.
Officers then carried out further checks and allegedly found three suspected counterfeit wristbands among the man's belongings.
A subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered another 44 suspected fake nightclub entry wristbands hidden inside.
In total, 47 suspected counterfeit wristbands were recovered.
The man was arrested on suspicion of fraud and was subsequently placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
The case highlights the risks of purchasing Ibiza nightclub entry from unofficial sources, particularly when tickets or wristbands are being offered at unusually high prices.
For anyone heading to Ibiza's clubs, purchasing entry through official club channels or authorized ticket sellers remains the safest way to avoid counterfeit tickets and potential scams.
