Ibiza-Born O Beach Dubai Closes Current Venue Less Than Two Years After Opening
Published on September 19, 2026 at 12:45 PM
O Beach Dubai has closed its current beachfront venue less than two years after opening, bringing the first chapter of the Ibiza-born brand’s international expansion to an end at its Dubai Marina location.
The venue, located at the Habtoor Grand Hotel, opened on October 24, 2024 as the first permanent O Beach location outside Ibiza.
The closure is linked to redevelopment taking place around the current site. O Beach says the surrounding changes mean it can no longer provide the full beachfront experience that is central to the concept.
However, the brand has stressed that it is not leaving Dubai and says details of a future location will be announced in due course.
Why Has O Beach Dubai Closed?
O Beach has attributed the closure to ongoing redevelopment around its current venue.
According to the company's statement, the changes taking place around the site have affected its ability to deliver the full beachfront experience that guests have come to associate with O Beach.
The company has therefore decided to close the existing venue rather than continue operating from a location that no longer provides the setting required for its concept.
No detailed timetable for the surrounding redevelopment has been announced by O Beach.
The Current Venue Opened in October 2024
O Beach Dubai opened its doors on October 24, 2024.
The Dubai Marina venue represented a major step for the brand, taking the O Beach concept beyond its original home in Ibiza for the first time.
The venue was based at the beachfront of the Habtoor Grand Hotel and was designed around the same broad combination of poolside entertainment, DJs, performances, dining and premium day-club experiences associated with the Ibiza original.
Its closure means the Dubai venue operated for less than two years.
The First O Beach Outside Ibiza
O Beach Ibiza had already established itself as a major daytime entertainment venue in San Antonio before the Dubai expansion.
The Ibiza venue opened in 2012 and developed a format combining a large pool, DJs, live entertainment, food, drinks and VIP experiences.
Taking the concept to Dubai marked the company's first permanent expansion outside Ibiza and brought the brand's Ibiza-inspired day-club format to a new international market.
The Dubai venue followed the same broad philosophy while adapting the experience to its location in the United Arab Emirates.
O Beach Says Dubai Is Not the End
The closure of the Habtoor Grand venue does not mean O Beach has announced a complete withdrawal from Dubai.
The company has said it remains committed to the emirate and intends to reveal information about its future home when plans are ready.
For now, however, there is no confirmed replacement address and no reopening date.
That means the current Dubai Marina venue has closed, while the future location of O Beach in Dubai remains undecided.
A Short First International Chapter
The timing makes the closure notable.
O Beach Dubai opened in October 2024 and closed in September 2026, giving the original location a run of less than two years.
That is a relatively short period for an international hospitality expansion, particularly one designed to carry an established Ibiza brand into a major global tourism market.
The company has not said that the short operating period was caused by financial performance. The reason it has publicly given for closing is the redevelopment surrounding the existing site and the resulting impact on the beachfront experience.
The Brand's Ibiza Home Continues
The Dubai closure does not affect O Beach Ibiza.
The original venue in San Antonio continues to operate its daytime pool-party programme, with DJs, live entertainment, food, drinks and VIP experiences.
O Beach Ibiza remains the brand's original location and the place from which its international expansion developed.
The continued operation of the Ibiza venue also means the Dubai closure should be understood as a change to one international location rather than a closure of O Beach as a whole.
A Big Expansion for an Ibiza Brand
The Dubai project was significant because it took a recognisable Ibiza day-club concept into a new international market.
Before opening in Dubai, O Beach had already spent more than a decade developing its identity in Ibiza.
The Dubai venue offered the brand an opportunity to introduce that concept to a new audience while maintaining its connection with the island.
The current closure therefore marks the end of the first venue in Dubai, but not necessarily the end of the expansion story.
The Future Dubai Location Is Still Unknown
For guests who visited O Beach Dubai, the immediate question is what comes next.
At present, the answer is not yet known.
The company has not announced where its next Dubai venue will be located, when it will open or whether the new site will reproduce the current Dubai Marina format.
O Beach has indicated that further information will be released when its future plans are ready to be announced.
Until then, there is no confirmed replacement venue for visitors to book.
What Happens to Existing Dubai Plans?
Anyone planning a visit to Dubai should note that the former O Beach Dubai location is no longer operating.
Older booking pages, promotional material or social media posts referring to the Habtoor Grand venue may continue to appear online, but they should not be taken as evidence that the venue remains open.
The company’s current position is that the existing location has closed and that further information about its future Dubai presence will follow.
From Ibiza to Dubai and Potentially Beyond
O Beach's move into Dubai was part of a wider effort to take the Ibiza day-club experience into international markets.
The brand had previously discussed expansion beyond Ibiza as part of its long-term development, with Dubai becoming the first location to materialise as a permanent venue.
The closure of the first Dubai site now leaves the company preparing for what could become a second chapter in the emirate.
No details of that next chapter have been confirmed yet.
A New Chapter for O Beach Dubai
For now, O Beach Dubai's first venue is closed.
The Habtoor Grand location lasted less than two years and has shut because, according to O Beach, surrounding redevelopment made it impossible to provide the beachfront experience expected from the brand.
But the company says it remains committed to Dubai.
For an Ibiza-born brand that made its first international move in 2024, the next step will be finding a new location capable of recreating the setting and experience that helped establish O Beach in Ibiza.
Until that happens, O Beach Ibiza remains the original home of the brand, while Dubai waits to see where its next chapter will begin.
