Pompas Fúnebres Ibiza Opens New Es Gorg Facilities with Larger Viewing Rooms and Multiconfessional Ceremony Space

October 03, 2026

Pompas Fúnebres Ibiza has opened its new facilities in Es Gorg, marking a new stage for one of Ibiza's established funeral service companies and bringing its public-facing offices and viewing facilities together under one roof.

The new premises, located at Carrer Pare Josep Manxarell, 11, were officially inaugurated on Thursday, 1 October 2026, during an event attended by around 100 guests, including institutional representatives, professionals, collaborators and members of the company's team and wider community.

The facilities began serving the public from Friday, 2 October.

A New Space for Families

The new centre has been designed to provide families with a larger, brighter and more comfortable environment during a difficult period.

The facilities include five viewing rooms, four of them dedicated to wakes. Three of the rooms on the upper floor have interior terraces that provide additional natural light.

Each room has been designed with separate areas for greater privacy as well as spaces where relatives and friends can spend time together.

The new premises also include landscaped outdoor areas, creating a quieter setting away from the traditional enclosed atmosphere associated with funeral facilities.

A Multiconfessional Ceremony Room

One of the main additions is a dedicated ceremony room designed to accommodate different types of farewells.

The space can host personalised ceremonies according to the wishes and beliefs of each family, including both religious and non-religious ceremonies.

It can also be adapted as a more private and fully equipped premium viewing room for families looking for an alternative setting.

The company says the new space responds to growing demand for greater choice and personalisation when organising a farewell.

Offices and Viewing Facilities in One Location

The move also brings an important practical change for families.

Previously, Pompas Fúnebres Ibiza's public offices were located on Calle Aragón, while the viewing facilities operated separately in Can Negre.

The new Es Gorg site brings the public-facing offices and viewing facilities together, making the process more centralised for families.

The former viewing facility will remain in use internally, while the company's public-facing activity has moved to Es Gorg.

An Investment in the Future

The new facilities represent an investment of around €3 million, according to company management.

The project also represents a generational transition for the family business. Ana Marí, who has managed the company since 1999, is now working alongside her son Adrián Valencia Marí, representing the fourth generation of the family involved in the business.

Adrián, 27, has worked in the company since he was 16 and is taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the new facilities.

The company currently has a team of around 40 people, according to its management.

Bringing Ibiza into the Design

The new building has been designed with references to the island throughout its interior and exterior spaces.

The rooms carry Ibiza-related names, while photographs, ceramics, books and natural materials are incorporated into the design. White surfaces, natural stone and vegetation, including bougainvillea, orange trees and olive trees, are used to create a setting intended to feel connected to the island.

A common café area also provides a separate space where families and visitors can spend time away from the viewing rooms.

A New Chapter for a Family Business

Pompas Fúnebres Ibiza traces its history back more than 50 years and has remained a family-run business through several generations.

The new Es Gorg facilities are intended to bring together that experience with a more modern approach to funeral services, offering families greater comfort, privacy and choice during the farewell process.

The company continues to provide funeral services in Ibiza and Formentera, with 24-hour assistance throughout the year.

With the opening of the new Es Gorg centre, Pompas Fúnebres Ibiza has completed a significant move that brings its public-facing services together while continuing its long-standing presence on the island.
