Nandu Jubany and Two Formentera Restaurants Named Recipients of 2025 Gastronomy Awards

September 19, 2026

Chef Nandu Jubany and Formentera restaurants Vogamarí and 190 Pasos have been selected to receive the Formentera Gastronomy Awards corresponding to the 2025 season.

The fifth edition of the awards is organised by the Academia de Gastronomía de Ibiza y Formentera, whose members unanimously chose the three recipients in recognition of their contribution to the island's culinary scene. The official ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 27, at Hannah restaurant in Formentera.

Nandu Jubany recognised for his culinary and entrepreneurial work

Nandu Jubany is being recognised for both his work as a chef and his role as an entrepreneur.

His gastronomic presence in Formentera currently includes four venues: Can Carlitos, Es Còdol Foradat, Pecador Formentera and Agua Aire. His project on the island combines several different dining concepts while maintaining a strong connection with Mediterranean cooking.

The Academy highlights Jubany's use of popular Catalan and Mediterranean recipes as a foundation for contemporary interpretations, with an emphasis on the quality of the produce.

Jubany first expanded his restaurant activity to Formentera with Es Còdol Foradat in 2020. Pecador Formentera is now also part of his island portfolio, alongside Can Carlitos and Agua Aire.

Vogamarí receives recognition for traditional island cuisine

Vogamarí has been recognised for its commitment to preserving the traditional culinary repertoire of Formentera and the wider Mediterranean.

The restaurant, located in the Migjorn area, places fresh local produce at the centre of its offering. Its kitchen is led by chef Toni Mayans, whose cooking combines traditional recipes with his own creative interpretation, particularly through ingredients from the sea.

The recognition highlights the restaurant's role in maintaining dishes and culinary traditions closely associated with Formentera while continuing to work with contemporary restaurant techniques.

190 Pasos recognised for creative and fusion cooking

The third recipient is 190 Pasos, the restaurant in Ca Marí near Playa de Migjorn led by chef Borja Molins.

The Academy highlights its creative approach and its use of influences from other gastronomic traditions while maintaining a simple and accessible style of cooking.

Its cuisine places particular emphasis on local, high-quality produce and a balance between technique and simplicity.

The restaurant began operating under its current management in the early 2020s, taking over the site previously occupied by Carabela. The name 190 Pasos refers to the approximate distance between the restaurant and the beach.

Three recognitions for the 2025 season

The awards announced this September relate specifically to the 2025 gastronomic season, despite the ceremony taking place in 2026.

The Academy's fifth edition focuses on contributions to Formentera's culinary identity, including the preservation of traditional recipes, the use of local produce and contemporary approaches to island gastronomy.

Unlike the Academy's separate annual Ibiza awards presented earlier in 2026, these recognitions are dedicated specifically to the Formentera gastronomic scene.

Award ceremony in Formentera

The three awards will be formally presented on Sunday, September 27, at 11:30 at Hannah restaurant in Formentera.

The ceremony will bring together the three recipients and representatives of the Academy for the presentation of the fifth edition of its Formentera awards.

Celebrating Formentera's evolving food culture

The three recipients represent different sides of the island's gastronomic landscape.

Jubany's project combines established Mediterranean and Catalan culinary traditions with a growing group of restaurants on the island. Vogamarí represents the continued importance of traditional Formentera and Mediterranean recipes, while 190 Pasos reflects a newer approach centred on creative cooking, international influences and local ingredients.

Together, the three recognitions underline the range of approaches currently shaping Formentera's restaurant scene, from traditional island cooking to contemporary and fusion cuisine.
