This coffee comes from La Muralla, an informal group of small producers located in San Agustín, one of the southernmost areas of the department of Huila, in Colombia. Although today they work as a collective, many of these producers have been linked for years and are part of the original core with which this project began. The majority belong to a relatively young generation of coffee growers, many of them still in their twenties, who bring a contagious energy and a great passion for producing high-quality specialty coffees.

The variety of this lot is Pink Bourbon, cultivated between 1,700 and 1,900 meters of altitude, where mountain conditions allow for a slow and balanced maturation of the cherry. In this region of Huila, the combination of altitude, fertile soils, and a temperate climate creates an especially favorable environment for the development of complex and elegant coffees.

In 2022, a local purchasing point was also opened in the center of San Agustín, allowing coffee to be received directly from more producers in the area. This model facilitates logistics, reduces costs for farmers, and strengthens the direct relationship between producers and buyers, something especially important at a time when coffee prices have been subject to strong changes.

For this lot, a washed process has been used, a classic method in Colombia that seeks to highlight the clarity and expression of the origin. After the selective harvesting of ripe cherries, the coffee is de-pulped, fermented, and washed before controlled drying.

The result is a clean and elegant coffee that reflects the character of San Agustín and the collective work of the La Muralla producers.
