Guardia Civil Reports 140 Drug-Trafficking Arrests in Ibiza Since Start of Summer

The Guardia Civil has arrested 140 people in Ibiza for alleged drug-trafficking and public-health offences since the start of the summer season, according to an official update from the Guardia Civil command in Ibiza.

The operations began on June 1, 2026, and have focused particularly on tackling street-level drug dealing during the busy summer period, with support from local police and the Guardia Civil's Reserve and Security Group (GRS).

Increased Summer Enforcement

The campaign forms part of the security measures being carried out across Ibiza during the peak tourism season.

Authorities have been targeting the retail distribution of illegal substances, with operations taking place in different parts of the island.

Among the cases highlighted in the latest update was a pursuit in Sant Antoni, which resulted in an arrest and the seizure of nitrous oxide. In Santa Eulària, officers arrested another person allegedly carrying several substances, including 2C-B (Tusi) and ketamine.

The Guardia Civil has also reported arrests connected to criminal organisations involved in larger-scale drug trafficking.

Recent Operation Targeted Tourist Sales

The latest figures come shortly after another operation in Sant Antoni, where the Guardia Civil dismantled two alleged drug-selling points primarily targeting tourists.

The operation, known as Corsair Bal, resulted in the arrest of three people on suspected drug-trafficking and criminal-organisation offences.

During searches of two properties, officers reported seizing 68 doses of Tusi, 16 bags of cocaine, 14 doses of ketamine, eight doses of MDMA and more than 28 grams of ecstasy tablets.

Authorities also seized 98 bottles of nitrous oxide, 70 chocolate products containing psychoactive substances, equipment allegedly used to prepare and portion drugs, and cash in euros and pounds.

A Focus on Street-Level Distribution

The 140 arrests do not represent one single operation. Instead, they are the combined result of multiple investigations and enforcement actions carried out since June 1.

The campaign has focused on reducing the availability of illegal drugs at street level during the summer season, while also pursuing people allegedly connected to larger trafficking networks.

The Guardia Civil has also worked alongside local police forces and the GRS as part of the increased summer security presence on the island.

Part of Ibiza's Wider Summer Security Operation

The latest figures highlight the additional policing activity that takes place in Ibiza during the summer, when the island's population increases significantly with international visitors and seasonal workers.

For visitors, the message from authorities is straightforward: drug trafficking and illegal sales remain a major focus of enforcement during the summer season, particularly in areas with high tourist activity.

The Guardia Civil says these operations will continue as part of its efforts to prevent and tackle drug trafficking across Ibiza.
