Burlesque Comes to San Antonio Bay
The Ibiza Burlesque Festival brings together elements of burlesque, cabaret, music, DJs and live performance, creating an event that sits somewhere between theatrical entertainment and Ibiza nightlife.
The festival promotes an international creative community, with performers and participants connected to different countries and an educational programme designed to help artists perform, learn and connect. Its 2026 Education Exchange, for example, offers selected participants opportunities to perform in Ibiza and meet artists from around 10 countries.
This international element has become an important part of the festival’s identity alongside the live performances.
Celebrating 10 Years in Ibiza
The 2026 festival represents an important milestone, with the organisers describing it as their 10th year of operation.
The festival was created by founder and performer Sapphira, also known as Priscilla Silcock, and has developed into a wider platform combining live performance, education, online community activity and cultural projects.
The organisation describes its work as centred on burlesque and performance culture, with Ibiza remaining at the heart of the project.
A Festival Built Around Creativity
The event is not limited to a traditional stage show.
The festival's wider programme includes educational opportunities, performer development and international exchange through its connection with the World Burlesque Academy.
The organisers say their Education Exchange allows artists to perform, receive peer feedback and connect with other performers and teachers, while also providing online educational opportunities.
That approach gives the festival a broader creative dimension and helps bring together both established performers and people developing their own work.
From Burlesque to Ibiza Culture
There is also a strong connection between the festival and Ibiza’s wider creative identity.
The festival describes itself as beach-inspired and built around sunsets, DJs and burlesque, while its events take place in venues that make use of Ibiza’s coastal setting.
The Friday pre-party at Aperture Terrace and Saturday Gala at NYX Hotel Ibiza offer two different settings across the weekend, bringing the event from an Ibiza terrace into a seafront hotel environment.
For visitors looking beyond Ibiza's main club circuit, it offers another way to experience the island after dark.
Performers From Around the World
The festival continues to attract an international community of artists.
Among the performers highlighted by the organisers for 2026 is Hibiscus Bloom, making an Ibiza Festival debut, while the festival has also highlighted Victoria Hannah Watson, known as Frivolity Vixen, as part of its international performer community.
The organisers have used the festival’s 10th anniversary to recognise performers and creative collaborators who have contributed to its development over the years.
A Different September Night in Ibiza
September is traditionally a busy month for Ibiza events, but the island’s calendar extends far beyond electronic music.
The Ibiza Burlesque Festival adds a theatrical and performance-led event to the mix, combining costume, choreography, music, storytelling and cabaret.
The result is a night designed around spectacle and creative expression rather than the conventional nightclub format.
For residents and visitors curious about another side of Ibiza’s nightlife, the festival offers something distinctly different.
Two Nights, Two Venues
The 2026 festival weekend begins on Friday, September 18 at Aperture Terrace, with doors at 7pm and showtime at 8pm.
The main Festival Gala follows on Saturday, September 19 at NYX Hotel Ibiza, also with doors at 7pm and the show beginning at 8pm.
The organisers are inviting Ibiza locals to take advantage of the limited complimentary ticket offer, with 20 free tickets available.

Meet Sapphira, the Founder Behind Ibiza Burlesque Festival
Behind the Ibiza Burlesque Festival is Australian-born performer, songwriter, author and entrepreneur Priscilla Silcock, known professionally as Sapphira.
Sapphira has built a career across performance, music, writing, education and event production, with burlesque becoming an important part of her personal and professional journey. She has described discovering the art form in London as a turning point in her life and says the Balearic music featured in Café del Mar compilations also became an important part of her recovery journey.
Her connection with Ibiza developed further after meeting her husband, DJ and producer Antony Silcock, known as Tonestepa. According to the festival, the couple later travelled to Ibiza for their honeymoon, helping inspire the idea of creating a festival on the island. The Ibiza Burlesque Festival was launched in 2017 and has since developed into an annual international event.
From Performer to Festival Founder
Sapphira's career extends well beyond performing on stage.
She is the founder of Sapphira's Showtime, the Ibiza Burlesque Festival, World Burlesque Day and World Burlesque Academy. Her organisations combine live performance with education, mentoring and international community-building.
She originally worked in journalism and later developed a career in advertising, media sales and international higher education while simultaneously building her work as a performer and artist. Her biography describes this as two parallel careers, one in the corporate world and another in burlesque and entertainment.
Burlesque as a Creative Community
For Sapphira, the festival is about more than putting on a stage show.
The Ibiza Burlesque Festival works alongside the World Burlesque Academy, bringing performers and students together through live events, education and peer exchange. The organisers describe the community as international, with participants travelling to Ibiza to perform, learn and connect with other artists.
Sapphira also created World Burlesque Day, held each year on April 26, as an open international celebration of burlesque.
A Decade of Ibiza
The 2026 festival marks the 10th year of the Ibiza Burlesque Festival.
Over that period, Sapphira and her team have developed the event from its original Ibiza launch into a wider platform incorporating performance, education, music, publishing and international collaboration.
The festival also became associated with a 2025 performance project by Sapphira titled A Life In Art, which received recognition from the Official World Record Association under the title “First Music Tribute to Australian Art, Ibiza Spain.” The project was presented in Ibiza in September 2025 and combined burlesque performance, original music and cultural storytelling.
A Personal Connection to Ibiza
The story behind the festival is closely tied to Sapphira's own relationship with Ibiza.
What began as a personal connection to Balearic music eventually became a festival bringing performers and audiences from different countries to the island.
That makes the 10th anniversary especially significant for its founder. For Sapphira, Ibiza is not simply the location of the event. It is part of the story that inspired it in the first place.
