Carl Cox is reminding the world why his name remains synonymous with Ibiza, with a new one-hour set recorded live during his 2026 residency at [UNVRS] now available to stream.

The British electronic music icon's latest set was recorded at [UNVRS] on August 2 and has been released through BBC Radio 1 Dance, giving fans around the world the chance to hear part of his latest Ibiza performance.

The recording features music from artists including Adam Beyer, Faithless, Paperkraft, Tony Cortez and Kenz, alongside Cox's own selections across the one-hour set.

The release comes during Cox's second consecutive season at [UNVRS], where he has once again taken over Sundays with his own residency. The 2026 run began on June 21 and continues through October 4, with Cox scheduled to close the residency with an all-night-long performance.

And this is where the new recording becomes particularly significant.

Cox isn't simply another major DJ playing Ibiza. His relationship with the island stretches back decades, including his legendary years at Space Ibiza, where he became one of the defining figures of the island's club culture.

After a nine-year absence from Ibiza residencies, Cox returned in 2025 as one of the headline residents at the newly opened [UNVRS]. His return continued into 2026, where he has been given complete creative control over his Sunday nights and has brought together some of the biggest names in house and techno.

The residency has also produced some major moments this season. Cox has shared the booth with artists including David Guetta, Joseph Capriati, The Martinez Brothers, Nicole Moudaber, Chris Stussy, Dennis Cruz and WhoMadeWho, while other special guests have included Richie Hawtin, Honey Dijon, Luciano, Loco Dice, Miss Monique, Skepta and Sasha B2B John Digweed.

The August 2 set also formed part of a particularly busy period for Cox at [UNVRS]. BBC Radio 1 Dance X brought its Ibiza takeover to the venue that same night, with Cox joined by artists including Skepta, Syreeta B2B TSHA and Nakadia.

For Cox, however, recorded sets at [UNVRS] are nothing new. His first season at the venue produced a seven-hour marathon mix, recorded live at [UNVRS] in July 2025, as well as an all-vinyl techno set that was later released through BBC Radio 1's iconic Essential Mix series.

That history makes the latest BBC Radio 1 recording another chapter in a relationship between Cox, Ibiza and electronic music that has lasted for decades.

And with his 2026 residency still running until October 4, there is plenty more to come before Cox finally steps away from the [UNVRS] booth for another season.
