The OD Art Awards returned to Ocean Drive Talamanca on 25 September for their ninth edition, bringing together more than 400 people for an evening celebrating contemporary art, local talent and creative ideas connected to Ibiza.

Organised by Grupo Ramat and IbizArt Guide, this year’s event was presented by actress África Serenella and centred on the theme “Repair to Create”, inviting artists to explore how broken, discarded or transformed materials and ideas can become the starting point for something new.

Repair to Create

The concept of this year’s awards drew inspiration from kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing broken ceramics while highlighting rather than concealing their fractures.

The idea provided a starting point for artists to consider repair from different perspectives, including reused and discarded materials, recycling, upcycling, relationships, emotions, communities and the environment.

The theme was also reflected in the gifts given to guests. Artist Laura Huguet Nonó created individual pieces using fragments of discarded clay from her studio, with each piece incorporating a word made using 10-karat gold leaf.

Martín Díaz Wins the IbizArt Guide Exhibition Prize

One of the awards presented during the evening recognised the artists participating in the collective IbizArt Guide exhibition at the Centre Cultural de Jesús.

Martín Díaz received first prize. His award includes a trophy created by Stella Rahola and a feature in the 2027 edition of IbizArt Guide.

Laura Huguet Nonó received second prize, winning a work by artist Marcel Zauner, while Marta Santamaría received third prize, which includes a page in the next edition of the publication.

The winners of these exhibition awards were selected through votes from visitors to the exhibition.

Additional Awards Recognise Artistic Careers

The OD Art Awards also presented two additional recognitions.

León Orozco received the Discovery Award, recognising the most outstanding exhibition of the previous year at the Ocean Drive hotels.

Luis Miguel Romero, known artistically as Rom Ero, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Clàudia Vives-Fierro Wins the Repair to Create Competition

The evening concluded with the prizes for the dedicated “Repair to Create” competition.

Clàudia Vives-Fierro received first prize, worth €1,500. She was unable to attend the ceremony because of a prior commitment but shared her thanks and reaction with the organisers by telephone.

EL.RoL received the second prize of €800, while Laura Echaniz took third prize, worth €300.

The competition jury brought together Elena Ruíz, Diana Pintado, Sarah Suco, Sergio Sancho, Emma Salahi, Stefan Bruggeman and Anna Bigas, all professionals connected to different areas of art and culture.

A Platform for Ibiza’s Creative Community

The OD Art Awards were created through the collaboration between Grupo Ramat and IbizArt Guide to provide visibility for local artists and creators who have made Ibiza their home.

The awards form part of Ocean Drive’s wider cultural programme, with its hotels hosting exhibitions, concerts, talks and other cultural activities throughout the year.

The 2026 edition continued that focus by bringing artists, residents, visitors and members of Ibiza’s creative community together around a theme that connected artistic practice with ideas of reuse, transformation and repair.

A Ninth Edition Focused on Transformation

With more than 400 people attending, the 2026 OD Art Awards once again provided a meeting point for Ibiza’s artistic community.

“Repair to Create” gave this year’s edition a clear conceptual focus, using the idea of repair not simply as a way of restoring something to its original state, but as a process that can lead to a new form.

From the works presented by participating artists to the guest pieces made from discarded clay, the theme ran throughout the event and its awards programme.
