Two adult Moroccan men have been detained in Ceuta in connection with the alleged attempted sexual assault of a 17-year-old Moroccan migrant at the Playa del Trampolín area.

The arrests were made following an incident at the migrant settlement near the beach, according to police sources. The two men had entered Ceuta during the large arrivals recorded on July 30 and 31, according to the same sources.

Incident at Playa del Trampolín

Police were alerted after reports of an incident involving minors at the settlement.

The 17-year-old was subsequently assisted by officers and taken for medical attention. The Spanish national police confirmed that the protocol for victims of sexual offences had been activated and that she was transferred to the Hospital Universitario de Ceuta.

The girl was due to appear before the Prosecutor's Office on Sunday, September 27, to confirm or withdraw her complaint.

Two Adults Detained

The two detainees are adults. Other reporting citing police sources identifies them as Moroccan nationals aged 42 and 21. They remain in police custody pending the next stages of the investigation and judicial process.
