A change in weather is expected across parts of Spain on Monday, September 28, with heavy rain forecast for Málaga and unsettled conditions gradually extending eastwards.

For Ibiza, however, the latest forecast points to a more moderate situation, with cloudy skies and a possibility of rain rather than the heavier rainfall expected in parts of mainland Spain.

Ibiza Forecast for Monday

AEMET's latest forecast for Ibiza shows mostly cloudy conditions on Monday, with the possibility of rain increasing during the day.

The forecast currently gives a 45 per cent probability of precipitation during the afternoon and 35 per cent during the evening. Temperatures are expected to remain warm, with a high around 28°C.

There is currently no weather warning listed for the Ibiza and Formentera warning zone.

Formentera is also expected to see cloudy conditions on Monday, although the probability of rainfall is currently lower than in Ibiza.

Heavy Rain Focused on Málaga

The most significant rainfall on Monday is expected in Málaga province, where AEMET forecasts a much higher probability of rain.

The unsettled conditions are then expected to move eastwards, with Murcia and Alicante among the areas being watched as the weather pattern develops.

The situation is more variable across the Mediterranean, meaning rainfall will not necessarily affect every location in the same way.

Balearics Could See More Unsettled Weather Later

The latest outlook suggests that the Balearic Islands become more relevant to the developing weather pattern on Tuesday.

Forecast conditions can change quickly in this type of Mediterranean setup, particularly when unstable air interacts with relatively warm sea temperatures. Localised showers or thunderstorms can therefore develop even when conditions remain dry nearby.

For Ibiza and Formentera, the current forecast does not indicate a major weather alert for Monday, but conditions should continue to be monitored as the forecast develops.

What Ibiza Residents and Visitors Should Know

Monday is expected to be noticeably cloudier than the clearer conditions experienced during parts of the weekend.

At present, there is no indication that Ibiza will experience the same level of heavy rainfall forecast for Málaga. The current outlook is instead for warm, humid and mainly cloudy conditions, with a chance of showers, particularly from the afternoon onwards.

Anyone travelling by boat or planning outdoor activities should check the latest forecast before setting out, particularly as conditions around the Balearics can change during the day.
