Formentera's Qué Celeste Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a programme combining live music, circus, art, workshops and environmental activities across the island.

The main anniversary celebrations will take place on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19, at the Espai Cultural de Sant Ferran, with additional artistic programming on Sunday, September 20.

The festival's environmental programme will continue beyond the main weekend until September 26.

Two Main Days in Sant Ferran

The central programme begins on Friday, September 18, at the Espai Cultural de Sant Ferran, with activities starting from 17:30.

The afternoon programme includes workshops, games using recycled materials, bicycle repair, video art and forró dance, alongside other participatory activities.

A market featuring local artists and creators will open from 18:00.

The programme also includes an environmental presentation, followed by circus performances from 20:30.

Music begins at 22:00, with Forró do Pulpo, Band'Ayan and Marina y su Melao scheduled to perform.

Saturday Brings Circus and Live Music

Saturday, September 19, continues the festival's combination of environmental awareness, creative activities, circus and music.

The afternoon programme includes workshops, Play Wild activities, video art and environmental presentations.

At 20:30, Clownomadas will bring a combination of clown, magic, circus and theatre to the programme.

The music begins at 22:00 with Mawi, followed by FRAC, Formentera's Bloco Colubraria, Cuatro Pesos de Propina and JapaSystem.

The musical programme spans several styles, including flamenco, rap, carnival influences, ska, rock, reggae, Brazilian percussion and electronic music.

Food, drinks and a market with local artists and creators will also be available during the two main festival evenings.

Environmental Activities Take Centre Stage

Environmental awareness remains one of the central elements of Qué Celeste.

The 2026 programme began on September 12 with a beach clean-up in the s'Estufador area, with the meeting point at the church of Pilar de la Mola.

On Friday, September 18, the programme includes a Coastal Health Workshop led by Samuel Pinya, a biologist and lecturer in Ecology at the Universitat de les Illes Balears.

The activity will take place from 09:00 to 13:00 at s'Aigua Dolça in Es Pujols and requires prior registration.

Later that day, the programme returns to Sant Ferran with activities including Play Wild, bicycle repair, video art and a presentation about coastal health monitoring.

Exploring Posidonia

On Saturday, September 19, the environmental programme includes the workshop "Posidonia: En búsqueda de flores", organised by GOB Formentera.

The activity takes place at Es Pujols beach from 12:00 to 14:00 and combines an explanation on land with a light-water activity focused on identifying Posidonia flowers.

Later in the afternoon, GOB Formentera will present another environmental workshop focused on observations carried out in the waters surrounding Formentera.

Art and Recycling on Sunday

The 10th-anniversary celebrations continue on Sunday, September 20.

At 20:00, the Centre Antoni Tur "Gabrielet" will host the second Encounter and Exhibition of Artists and Artisans of Recycling.

The event will bring together artists and artisans from Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

The opening will include a DJ set by DJ Flowdalou, with the event highlighting the transformation and reuse of materials through artistic creation.

The Environmental Programme Continues Until September 26

Qué Celeste does not end with the main festival weekend.

On Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 to 14:00, the Espai Cultural de Sant Ferran will host "Oasis de Mariposas".

The activity will involve creating a space for butterflies using aromatic plants and requires prior registration.

This final activity extends the festival's environmental programme beyond the main music and arts events.

A Decade of Culture and Environmental Awareness

The 2026 edition marks ten years of Qué Celeste in Formentera.

Over the course of the anniversary programme, the festival brings together live music, circus, creative workshops, local artists, environmental education and activities centred on the reuse of materials.

With its main events taking place in Sant Ferran from September 18 to 20 and environmental activities continuing through September 26, the anniversary edition extends across several days while maintaining the festival's combination of culture, participation and environmental awareness.
