Sant Antoni Camina amb el Càncer Returns to Ibiza on October 18 With a 5K Race and Charity Walk

October 15, 2026

Sant Antoni de Portmany will bring the community together for a morning of sport and solidarity on Sunday, 18 October, as Sant Antoni Camina amb el Càncer returns for its third edition. The annual event combines a competitive 5-kilometre race with a non-competitive 3-kilometre walk, with registration proceeds going to associations supporting people affected by cancer on Ibiza.

The event offers residents and visitors two ways to take part, whether they want to compete for a finish time or simply join a community walk in support of the cause.

Both activities will start at Passeig de ses Fonts, which will also serve as the main meeting point for participants, information stands and the day's activities.

Event Schedule and Start Times

The event takes place on Sunday, 18 October 2026, in Sant Antoni de Portmany.

The competitive 5 km race is scheduled to start at 10:00, followed by the 3 km charity walk at 10:10. The race is organised under the regulations of the Balearic Islands Athletics Federation and includes men's and women's age categories, with trophies for eligible category winners.

The walk is non-competitive. It has no finishing-position classification or prizes based on placement, making it an option for those who want to support the initiative without taking part in a race.

The competitive race covers 5,000 metres, while the charity walk follows a 3,000-metre route. The main event area will be near the large fountain at Passeig de ses Fonts, where participants can collect their race numbers and find the stage, prize-giving area and information stands.

The finish line for the race will be on Passeig de la Mar, near the Ports IB office.

Registration Fees and How to Sign Up

Registration is handled online through Elitechip. Participants must select their preferred distance and complete the registration form.

The current registration price table lists the following fees, before management charges:

Category or distance Registration fee
5 km competitive race €12
3 km charity walk €10
Youth race categories Reduced rates apply
Walk for ages 6–16 €5
Walk for children aged 5 and under Free

The registration platform lists Thursday, 15 October, at 21:00 as the closing deadline. Places are limited by route, so availability may change before registration closes.

Anyone wishing to support the cause without running or walking can also enquire about a solidarity race number. This option allows people to make a contribution to the beneficiary associations without taking part in either route.

Race Number Collection

Participants can collect their race numbers on Saturday, 17 October, between 17:00 and 19:00 at Passeig de ses Fonts.

A second collection period will take place on Sunday from 08:00 until 30 minutes before the relevant start time.

Participants should check the event regulations for requirements concerning identification, documentation and collecting a race number on behalf of another person.

Categories, Trophies and Raffle

The competitive race includes eight age categories for both men and women: Under 18, Under 20, Senior and Under 23, Master 35, Master 40, Master 45, Master 50, and Master 55 and over.

Trophies are planned for the first three male and female finishers in each category. A minimum of three athletes of the same sex in a category must finish for the category to award trophies.

The charity walk does not award prizes based on finishing position.

After the activities, a raffle is scheduled to take place at the stage in Passeig de ses Fonts. Race numbers, including solidarity numbers, will be eligible to participate.

Road Closures and Safety Arrangements

Traffic restrictions are planned between 09:00 and 11:00 on Sunday, 18 October, to accommodate the event. The affected streets include Carrer Ample, Carrer de Soledat, Carrer de Velázquez, Carrer de Lope de Vega, the road towards Cala Gració, Carrer de Gaietà Soler, Carrer de Ponent and Passeig de la Mar.

The event's safety arrangements include coordination with the Local Police and Civil Protection, a medicalised ambulance and civil liability insurance.

Residents and visitors travelling through central Sant Antoni during the morning should allow extra time and follow local traffic instructions.

A Community Event Supporting Cancer Associations

Sant Antoni Camina amb el Càncer brings together sport, community participation and fundraising for organisations working with people affected by cancer on Ibiza.

With a competitive race, a more relaxed charity walk and an option to contribute without taking part in either distance, the event offers several ways to support the cause.

The third edition takes place on Sunday, 18 October, with the first start scheduled for 10:00 at Passeig de ses Fonts in Sant Antoni de Portmany.
