Santa Gertrudis is set to gain a new outdoor fitness area as Santa Eulària des Riu Town Council begins installing a calisthenics park in the village’s sports zone. The project will provide five exercise structures and a rubber-surfaced training area designed for outdoor workouts.

The installation has a budget of €44,944.91, including VAT, and is expected to take four weeks to complete.

Five Structures for Outdoor Exercise

The new calisthenics park will feature five structures equipped for different types of body-weight exercises. Calisthenics uses a person’s own body weight as resistance, allowing people to train strength and fitness without relying primarily on traditional gym machines or free weights.

The project includes preparing and conditioning the ground before installing the equipment.

Where Will the New Fitness Park Be Located?

The facility is being built in the green area on Carrer de Ses Escoles, directly opposite CEIP Santa Gertrudis.

The site will include 130 square metres of continuous rubber flooring, designed to meet the technical requirements for the installation.

When Will the Park Open?

Work began during the week of 12 October 2026, with a planned duration of four weeks. Based on that schedule, completion is expected around mid-November, although the final date will depend on the progress of the works.

The park is intended to expand the municipality’s outdoor exercise facilities, giving residents another place to train in the open air. It remains under installation and has not been confirmed as open to the public.
