Mallorca Motorcyclist Investigated After Stunts Lead to Crash That Injured a Minor, With Up to Six Years in Prison at Stake
A 21-year-old motorcyclist is under investigation in Mallorca after allegedly performing acrobatic manoeuvres on the Ma-10, losing control of his motorcycle, colliding with another rider and hitting a minor standing beside the road. Both the minor and the second motorcyclist were injured.
The crash occurred during the early hours of Saturday, 3 October 2026, in the Serra de Tramuntana, shortly before the Pujada al Puig Major motorsport event.
According to information released by the Guardia Civil, the young rider was performing stunts on a high-powered motorcycle in front of a group of spectators. During one manoeuvre, he reportedly rode on a single wheel before losing control and entering the opposite lane.
The motorcycle collided with another bike, throwing its rider into the air. The first motorcycle then continued into the roadside area and struck a minor who was standing nearby.
The 21-year-old is being investigated for alleged reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and causing injuries through negligence. The potential penalties could total up to six years in prison, alongside a driving ban that could reach ten years. These are possible legal consequences, not a sentence already imposed.
How the Crash Happened on the Ma-10
The accident took place on the Ma-10, a road running through Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana, during the hours before the Pujada al Puig Major.
A group of spectators had gathered near the road when the 21-year-old allegedly began performing acrobatic manoeuvres with his motorcycle. He reportedly lost control while riding on one wheel, crossed into the opposing lane and struck another motorcycle.
The impact sent the second rider into the air. The motorcycle ridden by the 21-year-old continued onward and hit a minor who was standing at the side of the road.
Both people were injured. The information made public does not specify the minor’s age or provide further details about the severity of either victim’s injuries.
Both Motorcyclists Had Left Before Officers Arrived
When Guardia Civil traffic officers reached the scene, neither motorcyclist was still there.
Investigators found one of the motorcycles on the roadside, where it had reportedly been moved and concealed. The absence of both riders meant officers had to establish what had happened and identify those involved.
The decision to leave the scene became a significant part of the investigation into the 21-year-old. Leaving the location of an accident can carry criminal consequences, depending on the circumstances and the applicable legal requirements.
Recording and Social Media Helped Identify the Suspect
The investigation advanced with help from members of the public, who provided information and a recording of the incident.
Investigators also obtained the registration number of the motorcycle allegedly responsible. Information shared on social media helped them locate the 21-year-old and establish his identity.
The Guardia Civil subsequently investigated him in connection with three alleged offences: reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and causing injuries through negligence.
The case remains subject to the judicial process. Being investigated does not mean that the suspect has been convicted, and responsibility for the incident must be determined through the appropriate legal proceedings.
Up to Six Years in Prison Could Be at Stake
The reported potential penalties for the three alleged offences could amount to a maximum of six years in prison, with a possible driving disqualification of up to ten years.
The precise consequences would depend on the offences ultimately established and the outcome of the legal proceedings. No final judgment has been reported in the information reviewed for this article.
The Guardia Civil has stressed the danger posed by reckless manoeuvres on roads open to traffic. Such behaviour can go beyond traffic infringements and have criminal consequences when it creates a concrete risk to other people’s lives or physical integrity.
In this incident, the alleged manoeuvres affected not only the rider performing them but also another motorcyclist and a minor who was standing beside the road.
Second Motorcyclist Also Under Investigation
The 24-year-old rider involved in the collision is also being investigated, but for a separate alleged offence.
Officers reportedly discovered that he had exhausted all the points on his driving licence. He is therefore being investigated for an alleged road-safety offence relating to driving after losing the points required to retain the right to drive.
This allegation is separate from the investigation into the stunts and the collision. The reported maximum prison term for the second rider’s alleged offence is six months.
The two investigations concern different alleged conduct, and neither should be confused with a finding of guilt.
Six Positive Drug Tests During Road-Safety Controls
The accident occurred during a period of heightened traffic activity linked to the Pujada al Puig Major. The Guardia Civil had deployed several road-safety checkpoints in the area.
During those operations, officers detected six drivers who tested positive in preliminary drug tests. They also issued more than 20 reports for other alleged traffic offences.
These figures relate to the wider enforcement operation and do not establish that either motorcyclist involved in the crash had used drugs.
Guardia Civil Warns Against Dangerous Stunts on Public Roads
The Guardia Civil has reiterated that acrobatic or reckless manoeuvres on roads open to traffic can endanger drivers, pedestrians and spectators.
When such conduct creates a concrete risk to other people, it can carry criminal consequences in addition to administrative traffic penalties.
The Mallorca crash illustrates how a loss of control during a stunt can affect people who are not participating in the manoeuvre. The investigation now focuses on the alleged conduct of the riders and the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The proceedings remain ongoing, and the allegations against both motorcyclists have yet to be resolved by the courts.
