Ibiza Chef Presents Alleged Message About Emptied Room in €8,000 Property Dispute

November 02, 2026

A chef in Ibiza who reported the disappearance of personal belongings valued at approximately €8,000 has presented a new allegation involving a message allegedly sent by the person responsible for managing his accommodation.

According to a second complaint submitted to the Policía Nacional on 23 October 2026, the message allegedly informed another resident that the chef's room had already been emptied and instructed them not to allow him back inside. The alleged communication also reportedly included instructions to deny knowledge of the situation if police arrived.

The case involves conflicting accounts between the chef, identified as R. R., and the person managing the property, identified as C. While the chef maintains that his belongings were taken without his consent, C. acknowledges that other people removed items from the room but denies that a theft took place.

Alleged Message Included Instructions to Prevent Access

The chef's second police complaint reportedly refers to a conversation between the property manager and another resident of the accommodation.

According to the account recorded in the complaint, the message stated that the chef's room had already been emptied, that he should not be allowed to enter and that, if police arrived, the recipient should claim to know nothing about what had happened.

The chef says the communication is among the evidence he has provided to the authorities in support of his allegations.

However, the original conversation has not been independently authenticated. Its reported contents should therefore be understood as part of the chef's account and the allegations documented in his complaint, rather than an independently established record of events.

Property Manager Acknowledges That the Room Was Emptied

The property manager, identified as C., has acknowledged that other people removed belongings from the chef's room.

However, he disputes the allegation of theft and maintains that the room was simply cleared after the chef's employment relationship ended and he was asked to leave the accommodation.

According to C., the chef had been given a room through an employment arrangement involving a trial period but was subsequently expected to vacate it.

He also disputes the chef's account of the missing possessions and maintains that the items were handled by other residents.

The two accounts therefore differ on a central question: although the removal of belongings is acknowledged by the property manager, the circumstances surrounding their removal and the alleged disappearance of valuable possessions remain disputed.

Dispute Began on 14 August 2026

The original incident dates back to 14 August 2026, when the chef says he returned to his accommodation in Ibiza city and discovered that the entrance lock had been changed.

According to his first complaint to the Policía Nacional, he managed to enter the building with the assistance of a neighbour but found his room empty.

Some belongings had reportedly been left in rubbish bags outside, while other possessions were missing.

Among the items he listed were a MacBook Pro valued at approximately €3,200, three professional kitchen knives, €800 in cash, personal documents, clothing and other belongings.

He estimates the total value of the missing possessions at around €8,000.

He also reported that one of his suitcases was subsequently located on Calle Murcia in Ibiza, allowing him to recover some personal effects.

Second Complaint Also Describes Alleged Aggression and Intimidation

The complaint submitted on 23 October reportedly went beyond the alleged message.

The chef also described further incidents involving other residents, including alleged insults, intimidation and a physical confrontation that he says ended after neighbours intervened.

He additionally alleged that the electricity supply to his room and refrigerator had been disconnected, resulting in food being spoiled.

These allegations have not been independently established, and no criminal findings have been reported.

Two Conflicting Accounts Remain Unresolved

The property manager continues to deny that a theft occurred and disputes the chef's right to remain in the accommodation. He has also claimed that legal action has been taken to secure the chef's departure.

The chef, meanwhile, maintains that his belongings were removed without his consent and that he has suffered further pressure since reporting the incident.

The two police complaints, dated 14 August and 23 October, document the allegations submitted by the chef. However, they do not establish that the alleged offences occurred or determine the responsibility of the individuals involved.

The dispute remains unresolved, with the authenticity of the alleged message, the whereabouts of the missing belongings and the legal position concerning the accommodation still requiring clarification.
