Milena Herrera Takes Third Place on Francina Armengol’s PSOE Congress List for the Balearic Islands

October 16, 2026

The Ibiza-based politician will be the third candidate on the Socialist Party’s list for the 29 November 2026 general election, with Azahara Peña de la Fuente also included in seventh place.

Milena Herrera García has been selected as number three on the PSOE’s candidate list for the Congress of Deputies in the Balearic Islands, headed by Francina Armengol, ahead of Spain’s general election on 29 November 2026.

The announced list also includes two other candidates from Ibiza: Azahara Peña de la Fuente, who will occupy seventh place, and Iñaki de Eróstegui Aznar, named as the second alternate.

Herrera has been a member of Congress since 2023. Her parliamentary work has included serving as the PSOE spokesperson on gender-based violence and participating in initiatives concerning island representation, public services and transport.

Milena Herrera’s Parliamentary Work

During the current parliamentary term, Herrera has worked on issues relating to gender-based violence, including efforts connected to a new State Pact on the issue.

She has also participated in the Joint Committee on Insularity and initiatives concerning the constitutional reform intended to give Formentera its own senator.

Other issues highlighted by the party include measures relating to the insularity allowance and free public transport.

Following the presentation of the candidacy, Herrera thanked the Socialist Party membership in Ibiza for its confidence in her and said she was looking forward to explaining the party’s proposals ahead of the election.

Housing and Public Services Among the Campaign Priorities

Herrera has highlighted access to housing as one of the issues she wants to address during the campaign. She has argued that alternative policies are needed to tackle the housing crisis and criticised the Partido Popular’s approach.

She has also emphasised the importance of public services and social rights, including public healthcare, education, pensions and scholarships.

These positions form part of the PSOE’s wider campaign message, which Armengol has presented around housing affordability, public services, social rights and the future direction of Spain.

Armengol has also argued that decisions taken by the national government have a significant impact on the Balearic Islands, particularly in areas such as regional financing, transport and housing policy.
