Thursday, October 15 in Ibiza: Something of Me, OKU Ibiza Day Pass, ESPHERA Heritage Talks and Morning Yoga
Thursday, October 15, brings together contemporary art, cultural heritage and opportunities for wellbeing across Ibiza. At Can Jordi Blues Station, Aby Sánchez's Something of Me offers a personal exploration of music, portraiture and everyday life. OKU Ibiza provides a luxurious poolside escape, while the first ESPHERA heritage conference examines the island's medieval art and the legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi. Early risers can also enjoy yoga beside the sea at Hotel Riomar or practise in the peaceful garden of Hotel Galfi.
1. Something of Me: Aby Sánchez Exhibition at Can Jordi Blues Station
Art enthusiasts can discover Something of Me (Algo de mí), the first Ibiza exhibition by Aragón-born painter Aby Sánchez, at Can Jordi Blues Station in Sant Jordi.
The exhibition presents a collection of oil paintings organised into three series: Iconos, Almas and Sabores. Together, they offer a personal introduction to Sánchez's artistic interests, combining portraits of influential musicians, studies of anonymous individuals and colourful contemporary still-life compositions.
Iconos celebrates musicians who have shaped the artist's creative outlook, including John Coltrane, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse. Almas turns its attention to anonymous people, exploring the expressions and gestures that reveal something of their character. Sabores takes a different direction, presenting food, drinks and everyday objects through a contemporary approach to still life.
The collection reflects Sánchez's interest in capturing personality, memories and familiar details through expressive painting. Can Jordi Blues Station provides a distinctive setting for the exhibition, bringing visual art into a venue known for music and its strong local character.
The exhibition remains open until October 19, making Thursday, October 15, an opportunity to explore the collection during the venue's regular weekday opening hours.

3. I Jornadas ESPHERA: Bajo el signo de Tau at Sa Peixateria
Ibiza Town welcomes the first edition of the ESPHERA cultural heritage conferences on Thursday evening, with a programme dedicated to medieval art and the island's historical treasures.
Held at Sa Peixateria in the Marina district, the two-day event takes the title Bajo el signo de Tau and explores the cultural heritage of Ibiza in connection with the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi.
The discussions examine late medieval art and the transition from Gothic to Renaissance styles, with particular attention to the Retable of Jesús, an important work in the island's artistic heritage.
Thursday's programme brings together three speakers with different areas of expertise. Giandomenico Bocchiotti specialises in the Hispano-Flemish painter Bartolomé Bermejo, whose work is relevant to the study of the Retable of Jesús. Núria Mignone contributes an international cooperation perspective, while Joan Molina Figueras, head of the European paintings collection up to 1500 at the Museo del Prado, examines Trecento art in the women's convents of the Crown of Aragon.
The conference offers an opportunity to learn about Ibiza's cultural heritage through the perspectives of specialists in history, art and international cultural relations. A second session follows on Friday, October 16, exploring Franciscan iconography and the idea of Saint Francis as a radical humanist.
