Wednesday, October 14 in Ibiza and Formentera: Punta Arabí Hippy Market, Art a l’Instant, Gifts to the Sea and More
Wednesday offers a varied day of discovery across Ibiza and Formentera, with traditional markets, contemporary art and a coastal boat excursion among the highlights. Punta Arabí Hippy Market brings its familiar combination of handmade crafts, food and live music to Es Canar, while Sant Francesc Market offers a morning opportunity to explore Formentera’s village centre. Back in Ibiza, two exhibitions explore the islands through drawing, photography and textile art, and Captain Nemo takes passengers along the western coastline towards the spectacular rock formation of Es Vedrà.
1. Punta Arabí Hippy Market: Crafts, Food and Music in Es Canar
One of Ibiza’s most recognisable markets returns to Es Canar on Wednesday, October 14, as Punta Arabí Hippy Market continues its final weeks of the 2026 season.
Established in 1973, the market has become a defining part of Ibiza’s creative culture. Its network of paths and stalls offers an opportunity to discover handmade jewellery, clothing, accessories, decorative objects, natural cosmetics and sustainable products created by local and international artisans.
The experience extends beyond shopping. Visitors can enjoy live music, explore the food-truck area and take a break at the market’s bars while discovering the relaxed atmosphere that has made Punta Arabí a favourite with residents and tourists alike.
The market is located within the FERGUS Style Punta Arabí complex, where white buildings and pine trees create a distinctive Mediterranean setting. With more than 400 stalls, there is plenty to explore, so visitors may want to allow several hours for a leisurely visit.
October 14 is one of the final Wednesday market days of the year. The market is scheduled to continue until October 28 before returning in spring 2027.

3. Art a l’Instant: Sara Michela Morello’s Artistic View of Ibiza and Formentera
Art lovers can discover the Pityusic Islands through the eyes of Italian painter Sara Michela Morello at Art a l’Instant, an exhibition hosted by the Puig d’en Valls Cultural Centre.
Subtitled The Magical Formula of Ibiza and Formentera, the exhibition presents drawings inspired by the islands’ landscapes, architecture and everyday life. Morello uses drawing and mixed techniques to document and reinterpret familiar places, from coastal scenery and traditional buildings to smaller details that reveal the character of island life.
Rather than presenting Ibiza and Formentera solely through their best-known landmarks, the collection offers a personal interpretation of their atmosphere and visual identity. The works invite visitors to look more closely at the colours, shapes and moments that make the islands distinctive.
Organised by Santa Eulària Town Hall, the exhibition opened on October 9 and continues until October 23. Its split opening hours make it possible to visit both in the morning and later in the afternoon.

4. Gifts to the Sea: Marina Penhos Exhibition in Santa Eulària
At the Santa Eulària Exhibition Hall, Argentine artist Marina Penhos presents Gifts to the Sea, a collection exploring the connections between women, memory, cultural traditions and the sea.
The exhibition combines photography and textile art to create layered compositions inspired by the Mediterranean landscape. Beaches, rocks and native vegetation appear alongside female figures and references to traditional rural life, weaving together documentary imagery and a more dreamlike visual language.
Penhos approaches the sea as both a physical landscape and a space filled with stories passed between generations. Her work brings together cultural references from Argentina, Ibiza and other territories, exploring how women’s knowledge and traditions can connect different communities across the Atlantic.
The exhibition is part of the autumn cultural programme in Santa Eulària and runs until October 24. Visitors can explore the works during either the morning or afternoon opening period, with free admission.
The programme also includes a participatory textile-art gathering titled Dones amb arrels (“Women with Roots”), scheduled for Friday, October 16, at 17:00 in the same exhibition hall.
