Ibiza Among Destinations Being Considered for New Private Day Trips from Liverpool and Manchester

November 06, 2026

Ibiza is among several European destinations being considered by a new luxury travel company planning to launch private aviation day trips from Liverpool and Manchester in 2027.

The company, THE SIX, intends to offer a different approach to private flying by allowing customers to reserve individual seats on a private aircraft rather than having to charter the entire plane. Each trip will combine return flights with chauffeured transfers, dining and curated experiences at the destination.

The proposed Ibiza trips form part of a wider collection of journeys currently in development. Other destinations under consideration include Paris, the Isle of Islay in Scotland and Saint-Tropez in France.

Importantly, Ibiza has not yet been announced as a confirmed destination, and no departure dates, prices or specific itineraries for the island have been published.

Champagne to Be the First Planned Experience

THE SIX's first planned experience will take passengers to France's Champagne region for a one-day trip, returning to the UK on the same day.

The itinerary is expected to include a private guided visit to a Champagne house, cellar tastings and lunch at the five-star Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa.

The flight is expected to take approximately 90 minutes each way. The experience is priced at £3,495 per person, including return private flights, chauffeured transfers, the Champagne house visit and tastings, lunch and Champagne before departure.

Customers will be able to book places in groups of two, four or six. Those reserving all six seats will have exclusive use of the aircraft.

Ibiza, Paris and Saint-Tropez Among Future Possibilities

Beyond the initial Champagne experience, THE SIX is developing additional destination ideas for its launch programme.

The proposals include Paris for Valentine's Day, Saint-Tropez during the summer and the Isle of Islay for golf and whisky experiences. Ibiza is also included among the destinations being considered.

The concept could offer visitors a way to experience Ibiza as a day-trip destination from the north of England, without arranging a conventional overnight stay. However, the company has not yet disclosed what an Ibiza itinerary might include, which airport or destination facilities would be used on the island, or when such a trip could operate.

The business also plans to arrange bespoke journeys for private groups celebrating milestone birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions, as well as corporate rewards.

A New Approach to Private Aviation

THE SIX was founded by Duncan Falconer, who began his career in hospitality at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel before moving into aviation. He now works as a commercial pilot, flying Boeing 787 aircraft for a UK airline.

The business is backed by investor Jason Bligh, who first met Falconer more than 20 years ago while they were both working at The Chester Grosvenor.

The idea behind the company is to make private aviation available to customers who may not want or need to charter an entire aircraft. By selling individual places, THE SIX aims to combine the convenience of private flying with a fully organised destination experience.

Falconer explained that the concept grew from his experience in aviation and the desire to create a way for travellers to book a seat while the company takes care of the arrangements surrounding the journey.

Liverpool and Manchester Selected as Launch Bases

THE SIX plans to operate from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport, giving customers across Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and the wider North of England access to the service.

The company says the two locations were selected to provide an alternative for premium travellers who might otherwise need to travel to London to access similar private aviation experiences.

Registrations of interest are open through the company's website. People joining the waiting list are expected to receive priority access to the first departures in 2027 ahead of the general release.

Could Ibiza Become a New Private Day-Trip Destination?

Although the Champagne region is the first planned destination, Ibiza's inclusion in the company's development plans is notable for the island's tourism and luxury travel sectors.

The proposal reflects continuing interest in experiences that combine private transport, gastronomy and carefully organised activities, rather than focusing solely on the flight itself.

For now, however, the possibility of a Liverpool or Manchester-to-Ibiza day trip remains at the planning stage. Further details will depend on which destinations THE SIX ultimately confirms for its 2027 programme.
