Cova de Can Marçà Ibiza: Guided Cave Tours Open Daily from 10:30 to 17:30 in November

November 02, 2026

Visitors exploring northern Ibiza can discover one of the island's most distinctive natural attractions at Cova de Can Marçà, located above the bay of Port de Sant Miquel in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja.

The cave offers guided visits through an underground landscape of limestone formations, stalactites, stalagmites and historic smuggling markings. From November, the attraction follows its winter opening schedule, welcoming visitors daily between 10:30 and 17:30.

Explore Ibiza's Historic Smugglers' Cave

Cova de Can Marçà is a natural limestone cave formed over more than 100,000 years through the gradual action of water on the rock.

The cave also has an interesting connection with Ibiza's past. During the post-war period, smugglers used its hidden chambers to conceal merchandise. Marks left on the rocks reportedly helped them identify routes and navigate the cave.

Today, visitors can explore the underground chambers on an organised guided tour, discovering the geological formations and the stories associated with the cave's history.

The experience includes atmospheric lighting, sound and water effects, as well as an outdoor section offering panoramic views across Port de Sant Miquel and the surrounding northern coastline.

November Opening Hours and Ticket Prices

Cova de Can Marçà remains open throughout the year, with shorter opening hours during the winter season.

From November to March, the official opening hours are:

  • Daily: 10:30–17:30.

  • Adult tickets: €15.

  • Children aged 5–12: €9.

  • Children under 3: Free.

The guided experience lasts approximately 40 minutes.

Standard visitors do not need to book in advance. Tickets can be purchased directly at the cave's ticket office, subject to availability.

Location and How to Get There

Cova de Can Marçà is situated above the bay of Port de Sant Miquel, in the north of Ibiza.

Visitors travelling by car can follow the signs towards Port de Sant Miquel and continue along the road towards the cave. Parking is available near the entrance, followed by a short walk.

The attraction can also be reached from Port de Sant Miquel beach on foot, with a walk of approximately 20 minutes.

The cave is approximately 20 minutes by car from Ibiza Town, depending on traffic and the starting point.

Important Information Before Visiting

The route includes stairs and uneven terrain, meaning the cave is not wheelchair accessible. Visitors with mobility difficulties, heart conditions, asthma or claustrophobia are advised to contact the attraction before planning their visit.

Comfortable, closed footwear with good grip is recommended, as some surfaces can be damp.

With its combination of natural geology, local history and spectacular coastal views, Cova de Can Marçà offers an opportunity to discover a different side of Ibiza beyond its beaches and summer nightlife.
