Class Sant Antoni completed the group stage of the Copa España with a perfect record after beating Tres Cantos 74-86 in Madrid on Saturday, September 26.

The Ibiza side won all three of its Group E matches and finished at the top of the group, securing its place in the knockout phase of the competition.

Tres Cantos Make Strong Start

The home side started better and built an early advantage.

Tres Cantos moved nine points clear at 29-20 before Class Sant Antoni began to recover. Dani de la Rúa helped keep the visitors within reach, including a three-point play that brought the score to 29-23 at the end of the first quarter.

Class improved defensively during the second period, while De la Rúa continued to contribute offensively. Rodri Gómez also added two three-pointers.

Despite some missed free throws and opportunities close to the basket, Sant Antoni recovered the deficit and went into half-time level at 45-45.

Class Take Control After Half-Time

Sant Antoni produced its strongest spell immediately after the break.

The visitors opened the third quarter with an 11-0 run, moving from 45-45 to 45-56.

De la Rúa scored five consecutive points during the run, followed by three-pointers from Íker Ruiz and Aleix Haro.

The lead eventually reached 14 points at 49-63, putting Class Sant Antoni in a strong position.

Tres Cantos Fight Back

The Madrid side responded with a 14-0 run of its own.

Three-point shooting from Ángel Aparicio, Pablo Suárez and Charles Knowles helped Tres Cantos erase the deficit and bring the score level at 63-63.

Class Sant Antoni recovered its composure and remained ahead at the end of the third quarter, leading 65-68.

Sant Antoni Close Out the Victory

The Ibiza team controlled the final quarter more effectively and gradually rebuilt its advantage.

Tres Cantos were unable to reproduce their third-quarter comeback, allowing Sant Antoni to pull away again before securing an 86-74 victory.

Lamin Dibba was named the game's MVP after recording 13 points, 13 rebounds and two assists for 24 valuation credits.

Íker Ruiz finished as Class Sant Antoni's leading scorer with 16 points, matching Tres Cantos' Pablo Suárez as the game's top scorer.

Perfect Group Stage

The victory gives Class Sant Antoni three wins from three in Group E.

The team previously defeated CB Getafe 83-73 away from home on September 12 and then beat CB Zaragoza 73-58 at Siroko Sa Pedrera on September 19.

The result against Tres Cantos therefore completes a perfect group-stage campaign and leaves the Ibiza side at the top of Group E.

The Copa España group phase consists of seven groups, with the 14 best teams advancing to the knockout stage.

Focus Turns to Segunda FEB

Class Sant Antoni now turns its attention to the start of the Segunda FEB regular season.

The Ibiza side is scheduled to open its league campaign on Saturday, October 3, at 19:30 at the Siroko Sa Pedrera against Intermáquinas Benicarló.

The Copa España knockout rounds will begin later in October, with the round of 32 scheduled for October 20 and 21.
