Santa Eulària des Riu will begin the comprehensive rehabilitation of Carrer de ses Begònies in the Siesta-es Puig d’en Fita residential area on Tuesday, September 29.

The works have been awarded to Aglomerados Ibiza S.A. for €108,829.18, including VAT, with a planned execution period of two months.

Complete Renewal of the Road Surface

The project will involve demolishing and removing the existing pavement, preparing and levelling the ground, and applying a new road surface.

The Town Hall says the work is intended to improve the condition of one of the area's main roads while improving safety and comfort for both drivers and pedestrians.

The project also includes new horizontal and vertical road signage and the installation of speed reducers.

Traffic and Parking Disruptions

Residents and road users should expect temporary effects on traffic and parking while the work is carried out.

The Town Hall has advised residents and other users to follow temporary signs and any instructions introduced during the construction period.

The municipality has not announced a blanket closure of the road in the information currently available, so the expected traffic effects should be described as localised or temporary rather than as a full road closure.

€108,829 Contract

The contract was awarded through a simplified open procedure.

The original tender budget was €128,791.93, including VAT. The contract was subsequently awarded to Aglomerados Ibiza S.A. for €108,829.18 including VAT. The procurement record gives August 27, 2026 as the award date.

The difference between the tender budget and awarded amount is approximately €19,962.75.

Two-Month Construction Period

Work is scheduled to start on September 29 and has a contractual execution period of two months.

That means the planned period extends approximately into late November, although the actual completion date can depend on the progress of the works.

The project is therefore now moving from procurement into physical construction, with the contractor already appointed.

Once completed, the intervention will provide a fully renewed road surface together with updated road markings, vertical signage and speed-reduction measures.
