Ibiza Town has presented its first City of Ibiza Tourism Awards, recognising three businesses and tourism professionals for their contributions to the city's tourism sector.

The awards were presented on Friday, September 25, at Sa Peixateria. The first edition recognised RAMAT, represented by businessman Marc Rahola Matutes, with the Sustainable Tourism Award; Hotel Ses Figueres with the Tourism Career Award; and Viajes Ibiza with the Tourism Promotion Award.

Marc Rahola and RAMAT Recognised for Sustainable Tourism

Marc Rahola Matutes received the Sustainable Tourism Award on behalf of RAMAT.

According to the recognition presented by Ibiza Town Council, the group was highlighted for initiatives including its focus on locally sourced products, support for artistic talent on the island and opening hotel spaces to the public throughout the year.

Rahola described the award as a source of pride, highlighting his connection to Ibiza both as a resident of the city and as an islander.

Hotel Ses Figueres Honoured for Its Long Tourism Career

Hotel Ses Figueres received the Tourism Career Award.

The Talamanca hotel opened in 1958 under the Marí and Planells families and remains a family-run business in its third generation.

Its representatives said the award recognised 68 years of work in the tourism sector. They also noted that the hotel continues to receive returning guests, with repeat visitors accounting for around 50% of its clientele according to the hotel's representatives.

The hotel has also maintained connections with generations of visitors to Talamanca as the area and Ibiza's tourism industry have changed over the decades.

Viajes Ibiza Receives Tourism Promotion Award

Viajes Ibiza was presented with the Tourism Promotion Award.

The company was recognised for its role in connecting Ibiza with different tourism markets and for promoting the destination internationally.

Its representatives described the recognition as important for a company that has operated for 60 years and said the award gave the business additional motivation to continue.

A New Annual Tourism Recognition

The awards are a new initiative from Ibiza Town Council designed to recognise people and companies connected with the development and promotion of tourism in the municipality.

Mayor Rafael Triguero said the first awards were intended to recognise people and businesses that have contributed years of work and commitment to Ibiza.

Tourism councillor Rubén Sousa also highlighted the importance of developing tourism in a way that is compatible with the quality of life of residents.

The three inaugural awards therefore recognise different aspects of Ibiza's tourism industry: sustainable tourism through RAMAT, long-term tourism activity through Hotel Ses Figueres, and destination promotion through Viajes Ibiza.
