José Luis Cortés Cortés, one of four people detained in Ibiza as part of an international investigation into alleged drug trafficking and money laundering, is linked through the corporate records to a number of companies involved in real estate, construction and related activities on the island.

The corporate links include companies associated with developments in Jesús and Cas Mut, as well as other residential projects.

Cortés is the husband of former Ibiza Town Hall PP councillor Ana Ferrer Prohías, who announced her resignation from the municipal corporation following his detention. There is no information from the authorities linking Ferrer herself to the criminal investigation.

Four Detentions in Ibiza

Cortés was one of four people detained in Ibiza during a wider operation involving the Policía Nacional, Guardia Civil and Europol.

A total of 27 people were detained in Spain and the Dominican Republic as part of the investigation, which is being directed by the Audiencia Nacional and the Fiscalía Especial Antidroga.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, investigators allege that the organisation imported cocaine into Europe from Colombia and Panama and subsequently used real estate structures to channel and conceal proceeds.

Ses Torres 3 Unero SL lists Cortés as sole administrator and was established for activities including real estate development and construction.

The company is associated with the Ses Torres development in Jesús, an area known for high-end residential properties.

Cas Mut Unero SL also lists Cortés as sole administrator. Its corporate purpose includes the acquisition, development, construction, sale and rental of land and buildings.

The company is associated with residential development in the Cas Mut area of Sant Josep de sa Talaia.

The existence and management relationships of these companies are supported by commercial registry records.

A Recently Created Ibiza Company

Another link identified in the corporate records concerns Tri Mares Investment SL.

The company was incorporated in 2026 with its registered address in Ibiza Town.

Its stated corporate purpose includes acquiring and developing land, real estate promotion, selling land and buildings, construction and property transactions.

BORME records show that Unero Espacio SL was appointed its sole administrator and that José Luis Cortés Cortés was registered as the natural-person representative of Unero Espacio SL.

The existence of this relationship does not, on its own, establish any connection between Tri Mares Investment and the alleged criminal activity under investigation.

Other Companies Linked Through the Structure

Cortés is also linked through Unero Espacio SL to Ferbo Unero SL.

BORME records show Unero Espacio SL as administrator of Ferbo Unero, with Cortés registered as the natural-person representative of that administrator.

The company's stated corporate purpose includes real estate development, construction, exploitation, sale and rental of land and buildings.

The wider corporate records also show Cortés has held positions in companies based outside Ibiza, including businesses connected with real estate and other commercial activities.

Developments Mentioned in the Investigation

The latest reporting identifies several Ibiza projects associated with companies linked to Cortés.

Among them are the Ses Torres residential development in Jesús and the Cas Mut project in Sant Josep.

Other projects mentioned include properties identified as Villa Can Cana and Proyecto Alina.

The projects include high-end residential properties with features such as private swimming pools and wellness facilities.

However, the fact that a company connected to a person under investigation is involved in a particular development does not establish that the development itself forms part of the alleged criminal activity.

That distinction is important while the judicial investigation remains ongoing.

What Authorities Say About the Wider Network

The Ministry of the Interior says investigators uncovered a business structure through which people under investigation allegedly invested money from drug trafficking into complete developments, urbanisations and luxury homes, particularly in Ibiza, Marbella and Madrid.

Authorities say the operation resulted in a prohibition on disposing of 70 properties and 16 luxury villas.

Separately, investigators blocked 95 properties and 200 movable assets linked to people under investigation.

The authorities also blocked more than 1.3 million USDT in cryptocurrency and 26 bank accounts, and seized vehicles, boats, cash and firearms during 38 searches.

The official statement does not publicly identify every property or company involved, so individual corporate links should not automatically be interpreted as evidence that a particular company or development was used for money laundering.

Investigation Remains Open

The investigation is being handled by the Audiencia Nacional and the Fiscalía Especial Antidroga.

Authorities have said five international arrest warrants have been processed and that further action cannot be ruled out.

For Cortés, the current status is that he has been detained and is under investigation in connection with alleged drug trafficking, money laundering and membership of a criminal organisation.

Those allegations remain subject to the judicial process.

Corporate Records and Criminal Investigation Are Separate
