Casa Lola Residents Begin Leaving as Neighbours Report Movement to Property Opposite the Settlement

06 de October de 2026

Some residents of the Casa Lola settlement in Sant Josep have begun leaving the property as preparations continue for a court-ordered eviction, while neighbours are raising concerns about activity at a property directly opposite the site.

Residents in the area have reported seeing people and belongings from Casa Lola moving towards the nearby property, where a caravan and a partially constructed building have been observed.

However, it has not been established whether the people arriving at the second property have permission to stay there, and there is currently no evidence sufficient to describe the situation as a new illegal occupation.

Movement Across the Road

Neighbours alerted local media after noticing activity at a property located directly opposite Casa Lola, just a short distance from the existing settlement.

During an on-site visit, a caravan and a partially completed building were observed inside the property.

People who had previously been staying at Casa Lola were also seen approaching the site.

A young man arrived by car, entered the property and later closed the entrance with a padlock.

The circumstances under which people are accessing the property remain unclear.

There has been no public confirmation of who owns the land or whether those entering have been given permission to stay there.

No Evidence Yet of a New Illegal Occupation

The distinction is important.

The presence of people from Casa Lola at or near the property does not, by itself, establish that they have occupied it illegally.

It has not been confirmed whether the property has been made available to them by its owner, whether there is any form of agreement, or whether any payment or other arrangement exists.

The person seen entering the property did not respond to questions about the situation.

For that reason, the current situation should be described as reported movement from Casa Lola to a neighbouring property rather than as a confirmed new occupation.

Eviction of Casa Lola Has Been Ordered

The developments come as Casa Lola faces an imminent eviction following a decision by the Juzgado de Instrucción número 2 de Ibiza.

On September 30, the court granted a precautionary request by Inversiones Hoteleras Faro, the company seeking to recover possession of the Sant Josep property.

The company had filed a complaint concerning alleged usurpation and requested an immediate precautionary eviction. The court subsequently authorised the measure.

The settlement has grown substantially over recent months, with around 200 people estimated to be living there in caravans, tents and makeshift structures.

No Confirmed Eviction Date

Although an October 6 eviction date had circulated among residents, that date has now been ruled out.

The Guardia Civil has confirmed that it is preparing the necessary police operation, but no specific date has been announced.

The property owner's legal representative has also confirmed that the Guardia Civil warned residents that the eviction was imminent but did not give them a specific day.

Some residents have already started leaving voluntarily.

Others have asked for at least 15 days to organise their departure and find alternative accommodation.

Residents Concerned About What Happens Next

The latest movement has added another concern for people living around Casa Lola.

Neighbouring property owners are worried that the departure of residents from the existing settlement could lead to people seeking alternative locations nearby.

Some residents in the surrounding area have already begun placing signs on their properties as a precaution.

Their concern is particularly linked to the size of the Casa Lola settlement and the uncertainty surrounding where people will go once the court-ordered eviction is carried out.

A Difficult Situation for the Area

Casa Lola has been the focus of growing concern in the surrounding area for months.

The settlement has expanded to include caravans, tents and improvised structures, while residents have repeatedly raised concerns about waste, fires, security and living conditions.

The situation became even more serious after a 48-year-old man died following a fire at one of the makeshift structures on September 27.

The Guardia Civil is investigating the circumstances of that fire, including whether it may have been deliberately caused. That investigation remains separate from the judicial proceedings concerning possession of the property.

What Happens Next

The immediate priority is the execution of the court-authorised eviction from Casa Lola.

The Guardia Civil is preparing the necessary operation, but the date has not been publicly confirmed.

At the same time, some residents are already leaving voluntarily, while neighbours are watching developments at nearby properties.

Whether the property opposite Casa Lola becomes a longer-term location for any of the departing residents remains unknown.

For now, the only confirmed development is that people are beginning to leave Casa Lola and that neighbours have observed activity involving some of those residents at a nearby property.

There is not yet sufficient evidence to establish that a new illegal settlement or occupation has been created there.
