Santa Eulària Chamber Music Festival Returns to Jesús With Four Concerts This October

06 de October de 2026

The Festival de Música de Cámara de Santa Eulària des Riu returns this October for its fifth edition, bringing four very different chamber-music experiences to the Centro Cultural de Jesús between October 11 and October 31.

The programme moves from intimate violin and cello performances to brass, family entertainment combining music and dance, and a final recital exploring the many ways composers have represented love.

With concerts aimed at different audiences, the festival is designed to make chamber music accessible beyond the traditional concert setting.

Cordes a escena Opens the Festival

The opening concert takes place on Sunday, October 11, at 19:00.

Titled Cordes a escena, the performance will be presented by Duet Marí-Herrera, formed by Mónica Marí on cello and Rubén Herrera on violin.

The programme brings together music from different periods, including works by Corelli, Glière, Saint-Saëns, Bizet, Sally Beamish and Händel-Halvorsen.

Among the pieces featured are La Folia, Danse Macabre and a selection from Carmen.

The concert will explore the contrasting colours and possibilities of the violin and cello through a programme that moves between different musical styles and periods.

Spanish Brass Brings Essentials

The second concert is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 19:00.

Spanish Brass will present Essentials, a programme celebrating more than three decades of the ensemble's career.

The quintet consists of Carlos Benetó and Juanjo Serna on trumpet, Manuel Pérez on French horn, Inda Bonet on trombone and Sergio Finca on tuba.

The performance will bring together some of the works that have defined the ensemble's career, highlighting the combination of tradition and contemporary approaches that has characterised its work.

Spanish Brass has more than 35 recordings to its name and has developed an extensive international career in chamber music for brass instruments.

A Family Concert With Music, Dance and Fantasy

The third festival date changes direction with a performance designed for children and adults.

On Sunday, October 25, at 17:30, Art3 will present Les fades dels somnis.

The production combines music, dance and fantasy, featuring Lucía Herranz on vocals, Rocío Osuna in dance, Elvira Ramón on piano and Úrsula Pomar on flute.

The programme includes songs from Disney and well-known film soundtracks, with interactive elements intended to involve younger members of the audience.

Alongside the entertainment, the performance explores themes including friendship, respect and caring for nature.

The result is a more accessible introduction to live music for younger audiences while retaining the live performance experience of a chamber concert.

Retrats d’amor Closes the Festival

The fifth edition will conclude on Saturday, October 31, at 19:00.

Retrats d’amor will be performed by soprano Mar Vives and pianist Marc Laliga.

The recital will explore different representations of love through music, bringing together works from French, Spanish, German and Italian traditions.

The programme includes composers such as Fauré, Debussy, Poulenc, Gounod, Obradors, Turina, Strauss, Puccini and Verdi.

The combination of soprano and piano will provide a very different atmosphere from the opening string concert and the brass and family performances earlier in the month.

Students Get a Look Behind the Scenes

One of the new elements of this year's festival is aimed at students from the Escola Municipal de Música de Santa Eulària.

Students will have the opportunity to attend part of the general rehearsals held by the participating musicians before their performances.

The initiative is designed to show young musicians how a professional concert is prepared, from rehearsing the repertoire to the final moments before the performers take the stage.

They will also have the opportunity to interact with members of the different ensembles and learn more about their working methods.

Four Concerts, Four Different Approaches

The programme deliberately avoids presenting chamber music as a single style or format.

The opening concert focuses on the dialogue between violin and cello. Spanish Brass then brings the sound of a five-piece brass ensemble to the festival, followed by a family production combining music, dance and fantasy.

The closing recital returns to a more intimate format, placing the human voice and piano at the centre of an exploration of love in music.

This variety gives the fifth edition a broad appeal, with options for classical-music enthusiasts, families and younger audiences.

Tickets From €10

Tickets are available through the Santa Eulària Town Hall website for €10 plus booking fees.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Centro Cultural de Jesús box office for €12, which opens one hour before each performance.

All four concerts take place at the Centro Cultural de Jesús.

October of Chamber Music in Jesús

The Festival de Música de Cámara de Santa Eulària des Riu will run from October 11 through October 31, offering four concerts across three weekends.

From Corelli and Saint-Saëns to Disney songs, brass repertoire, opera and romantic song, the programme presents chamber music through four distinctly different formats.

For its fifth edition, the festival continues to build a programme that combines professional performances with family access and opportunities for young musicians to experience the preparation of live concerts from behind the scenes.
